Post Storm -Keaton and Spring Warrior 5.31

A buddy and I got free and launched around 9:00 thinking the tide would be real slack; however, the south wind kept water levels up. We headed south and picked up nothing but trash in 4-6 feet of water. Water temp was just at 80 degrees. Beautiful day with light winds and smooth riding until around ...

Keaton Beach 03.15 & 03.16

Headed down late Thursday to meet up with my dad and buddy. They managed 7-8 keeper trout before I arrived. Many small trout were picked up in 2-3 feet of water. However, the biggest surprise of the day was realizing someone had decided they needed my fiber glass powerpole and replaced it with their...

9/10 Keaton - Check the boat and the folks- pics

Went down to check the boat. Even though it was dry docked on the trailer we need to go get it when a tropical storm is bearing down. Boat survived but obviously came up off trailer and settled off center. Tried to maybe back it in to readjust but public ramp is toast. See pics. Also Keaton Marina h...

Boat Fire

Almost ended a great fishing trip last weekend with a disaster. Jamming out headed to fishing hole and when we stopped a smell of plastic burning was everywhere. My head unit on radio didn't shut off as designed and when I went under center console the whole back was smoldering..... Anyway clipped p...

GA Deer

Shot a Deer Friday evening and obviously didn't make a good shot. I was at a buddy's farm that I hunted a lot in college but hadn't been out there in years. I had no blood at the impact sight but found blood 40 yards in the woods. I was at the farm with old buddies which most didn't hunt but all wan...

Picked up a good many at Dekle and south of Grassy. I counted 121 boats at Dekle and over 200 boats south of Grassy.

Re: June 23-28, Boatless @ Eastpoint

Fishing tends to be fast and furious at first light then turns off. Get a cast net and catch some mud minnows/ LY. Use a bottom rig with the live bait. During the hot summer that seemed to be the best recipe or fish deep at the cut.
