Re: Scallop survey

I went out last weekend (6/25) to three different spots East of the lighthouse that produced well in previous years. I snorkeled in each spot for about for about 5 minutes and only spotted one the entire time.

St Marks Friday the 13th

It turned out to be a lucky (and beautiful) day. I put in at the lighthouse and motored out to the east flats. I set on several drift lines between 4 and 6 ft. Water temps around 70 (up from 66 four days earlier). Fishing with soft jerk baits, I pulled in five trout, mostly dinks. The one keeper (ju...

Re: Program at FSU for Veterans with Disabilities

Our first year was a great success. Now we are ramping up for another class in June. In these hard economic times am concerened with teh fundraising, but I am not going to quit as it is even more important to take care of our wounded troops when jobs are scarce and times are hard. The Tallahassee De...

Program at FSU for Veterans with Disabilities

Dear Forum Members, I am trying to get the word out to both veterans and potential sponsors about a program I am running at FSU. I know that many members of this forum are veterans and that forum members have supported other veteran causes in the past. Please help me spread the word (see Tallahassee...

Gone - gave it all to Goodwill. Check with Goodwill in Tallahassee for buying the trailer. You could always buy both and take the boat to a junkyard.

One of our most important jobs as parents is making memories for our children. Nice one.

Sevylor Tahiti Kayak

I have one barely used sevylor tahiti kayak with the optional rudder. It is a 10 foot tough as nails inflatable kayak in great condition. I will include a dry bag that the boat can be stored in.

I agree with JT, I get much more baitfish action on a Gulp than with other soft baits, and that is likely the attraction to the predators. I wonder how many pinfish I have sent to their grave chasing my Gulp? The question remains however, "Is it worth the expense?"

Lighthouse 5-3

I put in around 9:30 and headed to Stoney. It was near glassy conditions. I fished near the entrance of Stoney using live shrimp under a CT and Gulps. The specs kept me quite busy for an hour and a half or so, I even had a double at one point. But alas, two dolphin moved in and the bite was over. Mo...

Great post Suber. Think of all the poor souls that have this great area right under their noses and they don't even know it. That suits me just fine.

CC, that's a keeper.

Sorry to hear of the jackazzaes-it's up to all of us to establish and maintain our unwritten code of fishing etiquette. One way we can do that is by posting comments such as yours telling what it felt like to be on the receiving end of "drift-line encroachment."
