Re: What would you do?

No question that I'd been on beard face in the back so fast Id made his head spin as he and I both went in the water.

Re: Aucilla report?

Trout are scattered but quite a few in the river. I don't think they are there in numbers yet but you can catch a limit if you work at it. Suspended Mirrors lures worked best the last couple of days. Sinking lures didnt work at all. The cold front should add to the numbers. We caught fish from high ...

Re: Rotary Reef

I've filled a 150 qt cooler with gags a few times trolling firetigher 18 in that area in November. 20-40 feet. There is more bottom structure in that area than most can believe.

Re: Engine Overheating due to Sea Grass

Thanks for the responses. Good to hear that it’s a common problem on the flats, especially right now when the grass is really bad. Usually, what’s been working for me is to just stop the boat, shutdown the engine, and let the backwash roll up and hit the back of the boat. Then I can fire it back up...

Re: Engine Overheating due to Sea Grass

I had a Yamaha F115 and had the very same problem. Mechanic told me the poppet valve was sticking shut and not allowing water to flow through the engine properly. I thought my problem was grass initially. It wasn't a very expensive fix and I never had another problem after that.

Solas Lexor SS Cupped 15 1/2 x 17 $200

SOLAS Lexor Stainless Steel cupped 15 1/2 x 17 Prop. I bought this prop new for a 225 HP 4 stroke Yamaha mounted on a 225 CC Key West. Sold the boat but kept the prop since it worked so well in rough water. RPM's were 5800 WOT and top end was 46 MPH. $200 I'm in Dahlonega, GA but will work something...

I've bought a couple from First Coast Trailers and feel both were fairly priced.

Re: RAM Trolling motor mount

Its a great solution to stabilize the motor. I've used them on two different boats and they do the job. Cut down a piece of treated 4x4 if you have to so it sits up high enough to keep the shaft level. I've beat the crap out of mine and its still good. Use some 5200 to attach the 4x4 to the deck if ...

Yup, I've seen that before. I know a guy that has at least one more like that I'm sure he would be willing to deal on.

Re: G3 Question

I bought Capt K's G3 1756 with 60 hoss Yam 2S a few years ago and really like it. Its cheap on fuel, rides darn good for a small alum boat and its stable. For me, fishing the flats and lakes here in North GA with 2-3 people its a fine combination. Its the center console style which I prefer.

Re: Clean/polish pontoon aluminum railing help

Stop by your local auto parts and pick up some Alum Acid. I've been using it to keep my trailer clean for years. It wont hurt plastic. It will clean those toons and rails like nothing else. Spray it on and hose it off. Done!
