Re: Boiled Peanuts

Easiest way I've found to do boiled peanuts: Use an InstantPot. Cook 3 pounds of jumbo peanuts for 45 minutes (will take 20-25 minutes to pressurize, 45 minutes to cook and then I leave them in the pot for exactly an hour to release the pressure and soak in the salty water). My recipe calls for the ...

Re: Oysters

I buy a bushel during Christmas for the family every year. Buy every kind of cheese imaginable. Real bacon bits. Jalapeños. Herbs. Garlic. Etc Etc (everyone has their favorites but we also use a lot of imagination). Have 2 cast iron oyster cookers - each has indentations for a dozen. They're pretty ...

Re: Carrabelle 10/12-13

Rays are quite a tug.

This is first year I've gotten into tripletail (but what a lot of fun and what a great eating fish).

How long do they hang around? (had heard they leave in early/mid October but just have no clue).

Re: Local Boat Ramp Status?

Haven't read all the posts, but I fished out of the ramp under the bridge in Apalach last Wednesday (spent a little time in the "new cut". last Wednesday A whole lot of water moved through and a whole lot of sand moved out of the cut during Michael). Public ramp on St George Island was clo...

Re: Rat problem

Had rats take up residence in my ATV several years ago.

Ended up chewing a bunch of wiring (including some going to the engine) . Took the tech a while (=$$) to find and fix the wires chewed up wires.

Hope you only had one (though would surprise me).

Re: Labor Day weekend scalloping/fishing?

I went to Keaton fishing last weekend. First trip there in a while after putting in and fishing elsewhere over the past couple of years. No plans to go back. Most folks were awesome, but were just enough inconsiderate, self focused inbreds looking to get their boats out for me not to screw with that ...

Re: 2017 Flats Pro Seminars--SOLD OUT

Mighty glad I made it this year. I enjoyed the heck out of it and learned an awful lot about fishing the flats. Enjoyed the seminar. Really simplified my approach to fishing (" there's only two colors of lures- light and dark"). Again, I took 28 pages of notes. Might share them spring for ...

Re: Z-man scented shrimp VS Gulp

Get Pro Cure on your boat and try to get it off. Mighty difficult.

I can't tell a difference with or without as far as fish catching goes.

Don't plan on letting the junk in my boat again.

I've wondered if garlic or anise oil based scent works with saltwater fish (I use bass fishing).

Re: Tues 2/22

Well, I must still be on duck hunting time! Busy week and a required trip to Hotlanter at the end of it. I like Hotlanter best in the rearview! Y'all have a blessed day! I'm with you on the busy week. Headed out of town for the next 3 days. Had hoped to head towards St George on Thursday night, but...

Re: 2017 Flats Pro Seminars--SOLD OUT

I have 28 pages of notes that I'll share for a small fee. 8)

CCA, liked the jerk bait thought. Also have a feeling the info on how to fish the A-Dream spoon will be a game changer for me in the bay at SGI.

Re: 2017 Flats Pro Seminars--SOLD OUT

I very much enjoyed it as well. I went to Horseshoe Beach 45 years ago on my first excursion fishing the flats. You'd think I'd have a pretty good clue by now, but I learned a ton of new information and I think also very much simplified my approach to fishing. Several "Aha!" moments. If yo...
