Re: Piney Z water levels
Back in the day when it wasn't public, the furthest cypress tree stand near the middle dyke was about 10 feet deep at normal water levels. The ones near the train tracks were between 6-9 feet.geib20 wrote:glad you found something...what is the depth by the cypress trees

I would say borrow and try as many guns as possible before you buy. That 48 biller is a great starter gun. I started with one but quickly figured out I preferred a longer gun. Now I have a SS 52" Commercial Rhino.

The full moon in June is when the mangrove spawn. This year, it was Jun 15. I think you were a week late on a crappy moon phase and post spawn fish.

Re: fish bouy/marker (offshore)
I prefer the bandit buoy because it has a marker stripe and rudder that let's you know which way the current if flowing which makes it much easier to anchor.

Re: Diving etiquette.
I have found that there are a lot of people, especially on the rivers, that don't know what a dive flag is. They seem to think of it more as a bullseye than a caution notice. + :smt102 = :smt075 There are a few offshore too. Like marker buoys, they think "Oooooh look, that must mean we ...

Re: Diving etiquette.
No problem. Like I said, it's a common misunderstanding. With scallop season coming up people need to be aware of the rule. Divers have their own responsibility for safety. However, if you are at full speed 50 feet from the boat flying the flag while I'm in the water, you will get a middle finger sa...

Re: Diving etiquette.
Common misunderstanding of the rule. You do not have to be 300 feet from a boat with a dive flag. Your speed must be at the minimum to maintain steerage while underway within 300 feet of a boat displaying a diver down flag. I can only assume that since there was a group of boats that it was a public...
