Re: How to on Pompano....

If the water is cool; not cold, they will seek mud bottom flats because the water is warm(er) there. They're in extremely shallow water where the sunlight is strongest. Sometimes; they will seek deep water up the creeks and bayous. I've caught them almost everywhere as an incidental catch when fishi...

Re: How to on Pompano....

There is definitely a Fall Run starting when te cold fronts start.

The fish migrate West to East heading for the warm(er) waters of South Florida.

Pompano can tolerate temperatures down to about 67 degrees which will start the migration. C2

Re: When to use swivels?

From my personal experiences, I will say that that swivels are overused. Does your lure/rig really twist that much?

I would use a swivel if I had such happenings but for normal every day fishing, I think not! JMHO C2

Re: Has anyone ever caught a cobia on fly

Very Definitely! I have caught cobia up to 15 lbs on a fly. I usually sight fish then cast to the fish. I blind cast if utterly bored. I did catch a 38lber with my peewee surf rod which is a 12 foot crappie pole spiral wrapped with a Ryobi VMag3 reel with 6 lb test on it. It hit a 1/8 ounce Pompano ...

Re: do you guys use sand flea rakes?

I haven't used sandfleas for years since I use jigs exclusively. Before I discovered the amazing capabilities of jigs, I used my hands right along where the wave justvstarts to recede. With practice, you can see the little antennas sticking out. When fishing commercially, which I once did, we would ...

Re: Loop Knot Help

I use what others already describe as the Mirrolure Knot. I learned it; where else?, but from a box that a Mirrolure plug came from. Before that, I used what is referred to as the Double Surgeon's Knot. Good for small diameter aka, braid, lines. JMHO C2
