Went out to chase some cobes today....they were there...just a little too small. Strange thing is...we hit our bait spot at the shallow grass flats of AP and could find a pinfish to save our lives. Slack tide always seems to put a damper on things in general... but if we're reef fishing we always seem to catch a couple undersized grouper during the lull...it happens so often that it has become kinda of an indicator that the tide about to turn and things are gonna change.

Knew a local guy who could run the Aucilla at night at low tide. Did it many times with him.
He steered by by the silhouette of the tree tops and once we got to the mouth knew where not to go.

The place was ate up with drunk monkeys back when the Point Lounge was there.

let them munch on it for a bit before you hit them.
Also, be sure your leader is longer than the fish you want to catch...
Wire leader is useless if the leader is a couple feet long on sharks as their skin will snap the braid.

Go out onto aligator point and shark fish off the rocks where the old campground used to be. Seen some growed ones pulled in there over the years.
