Re: Gut check
then again, reds do eat a bunch of worm type organisms. Next time you are snorkeling for scallops, get a look at all the invertebrates in the grasses and empty shells. When I fly fish, I have caught some nice reds on a black wooley worm with a black bh wooley bugger dropper. looks exactly like some ...
Re: Gut check
my guess is they were parasitic and not marine worms.

the hooch
I had business in Chattahoochee this afternoon and got there a little early. Had time to run down to the dam, but not enough time to fish. Did have a chance to watch several hybrid bass come over the railing all caught on minnows. One probably went 3 or 4 pounds which, I think is big for hybrids. Al...

Hello everyone, not new, but haven't posted in a good while... haven't done much fishing in a long while either for that matter. I was pond hopping in the Appy Nat'l Forest this afternoon after work. Stopped at a bridge over a wide creek and was throwing a coneheaded wooley in black. Was hoping for ...

local ponds
over the last few days I've been hitting local ponds in town while out working, 20 mins here, 30 mins there. Small bass are hitting on bream imitations on full sink, and catching lots of blue gill and crappie on wholly buggers on the 4wt. Any body else playing the urban fly fisherman?

Re: wakulla beach 9/28/09
boat ramp is a generous term, like sir reel said, its a sandy spot in the marsh grass where you can launch a real small skiff or john boat, canoe, kayak etc. the tide was up and the mullet were getting pushed up against the grass (spartina?) on shore. normally I fish the point where all the oyster b...

wakulla beach 9/28/09
fished at the boat ramp for about 45 min after seeing a customer down by the coast. mullet are getting thick. broke off 3 nice reds (lower end of slot) on clousers (wht chatreuse). Only had my 4wt with me, waiting on a replacement on my 6wt from Albright. Didn't want to break the 4wt so was using 6x...
