Re: Culling fish

Considering the fact that my replacement pumps for my "new to me" boat's bait and live well just came in, our recent culling has only consisted of throwing back >15" trout prior to putting them on ice. These were all returnable fish with plenty of life to boot. If it weren't, we would...

Re: Salt curing mullet

SS-342, that makes me want to go back in time to see the way things used to be. I'm sure it was a much simpler lifestyle in many ways, but a great deal harder as well. As much a I love mullet, I don't know that I'd want to eat it every day. I bet by mid-winter they were at least "as ready"...

Re: Salt curing mullet

I've never had any myself. We always smoke ours along with blues, Spanish, etc. Hard to beat a smoked or fried mullet, but I may to give it a try to compare. Is it an acquired taste or one that's naturally appealing?

Re: Most Productive bait lately?

Red_Yakker's recommendation is right in line with what we used last weekend, and we had no short supply of bites. Take a sip between your twitches and enjoy the scenery..... but don't forget to hold on!!

11/09/13 Afternoon Run out of Keaton

My oldest sons and I set out to fish the incoming tide Saturday afternoon at Keaton. We went straight to Dog Head and found the bite after just a little bit of looking. I was fishing a Cotton Cordell that kept getting boiled until I switched to a like-colored Bite-A Bait that the fish couldn't refus...

Re: Looking for a Trolling Motor

FFW, I am talking with SS-342 about the same model. I am thinking it may be a bit too long for my needs though. I appreciate you letting me know nonetheless.

Re: Looking for a Trolling Motor

BBG, Is it the same trolling motor that you can see in Bman's profile pic? If so, it looks like a permanent mount to me...

Re: Looking for a Trolling Motor

BBG, sounds like it could be a good match, but I'm gonna stay out of that one.

Tidedancer, your TM may work, but the boat is already set up with a 24 volt system. Thanks though!

Looking for a Trolling Motor

I am looking for a bow mount, 24 volt, tiller steer trolling motor ranging from 70-80 lb thrust to go on a flats boat. I am not set on a particular length but would rather it be shorter than 60". I have been "lurking" in the background for quite a while now. I greatly appreciate the t...
