I went fishing in a small pond in North FL, lol, which produced some big bass. I don't have and scales, but the the average size was 3 to 4 pounds and the biggest was my 9 to 10 pounder. I hate to hear about your run in with the law. I think there is a new guy down there and he may be trying to make a name for himself. Glad you had a good time on the water, and by the way it doesn't get very deep until you get out about 3 miles or so.

I use both spinning and bait caster reals, depending on the situation I am in.
