Re: Wacissa River water going to Nestle?
I grew up in south Georgia, and love remote places and swamps. I hate as much as anyone to see development in those kinds of places. But it really comes down to who owns the land? It should be their call. If you really don't want Nestle there, buy the land and preserve it. It's hard to own land and ...

Re: Need a better anchor!!!!
I've got the same boat and same style anchor. It holds as long as I have proper scope on the rode. I don't remember what it is supposed to be but I believe about 1:7, maybe less. I have never tried to anchor offshore in deep water, I think I would have to actually get hung on the reef for it to hold...

Re: where were you 9/11/01
Chicago with wife and 2 children. We had been in the Sears Tower the day before. I can't immagine what the victims had to go through. Our car rental company let us drive the car back to Atlanta and refunded the extra cost - we never asked them to (Avis). There was a lot of sacrifice like that during...

Re: Shrimp in my Pool
I have had these in my pool in Dothan in the past. They showed up for a few weeks, but they eventually left. I think they are springtails, and they actually live in the soil around the pool and tend to get in the pool by accident. They are usually dead when you see them and they look more like shrim...

Re: NauticStar Boats
One of my proudest moments boating was outrunning a jet ski that wanted to race as I headed back to Bay City Lodge. I was tired and hot and hungry and the last thing I wanted was somebody buzzing near my port side. I just ignored him and slowly passed him by. I really like my NauticStar.

Re: NauticStar Boats
Actually, I feel about the same way about mine. I've never had much experience in anything other than a jon boat before, so I don't know how it stacks up. About the only places I fished growing up were farm ponds and the Alapaha River - things you could just about cover from the bank.

I meant to say "good" boats for the money. I don't know how they compare.CW2008 wrote:Scout and Pathfinder for example may be better boats for the money.

Re: NauticStar Boats
I own a Nauticstar 2200 (2005) with a 225 yamaha 4-stroke. I bought it (new) because it works pretty well as a bass boat too. I needed an all around boat to meet family needs. It mostly stays at Eufaula but occassionally goes to the bays and Gulf. I have few complaints. I paid a good deal less than ...

Re: Anyone diving these days?
Great time to dive this area. Visibility has been pretty good. There have been some whale shark sightings lately as well.
