Re: waccassa river

Nice! Nothing like fishing w your son! I hope these next few days of freezing temps doesn't kill off those snook or any other type fish for that matter. Never caught one before and would love to be able to check one more fish off my to do list. Happy New Year everyone!

What I've always loved about this game every year is that they play on "NEUTRAL TERRITORY" in Jax, FL! Hmmm... GO DAWGS!!

Re: Boat theft in the area

In my hunt last month for a 2nd sonar unit for the boat I was surprised to see so many units on eBay, Craigslist and Facebook marketplace for sale with no power cord, transducer or mount. Just the unit only. Made me skeptical on why they had the unit only. That being said bbb, I think it should be ...

That's awesome Rob! If I can ever get the Dr. to release me, maybe we can talk ole Pops into an offshore trip! Fyi, I've had my arse handed to me a few times on that bay. Wife was not happy! Lol

Maybe Nate will bring us a couple of inches of a good soaking rain without all the wind damage. Our farm pond is THIRSTY!

Re: 90 HP Yamaha 2 stoke vs 4

Thx Steve! Sounds like your boat is dialed in. Never been on a boat w the extra float pods in the rear. I would think that they help w planing off. As for the 4stroke question, I'll never own another 2stroke! My Dad has a G3 17.5 w a 60 Yamaha 4stroke. It will jump on plane in a heartbeat and push t...

Re: Kid kayaks?

I have one that u most certainly can borrow. I do not have a paddle for it. I'll check w bbb and see if he might be able to get it to Tally which is a lot closer than Climax.

Re: Shark bait

SG is spot on w the Grouper or Mullet head. I've got mullet heads before free of charge at a local seafood market. If u have any Bream in ur freezer, they work well also. But check the law on that, not sure if it's legal to use as bait. I've done it before, but I also thought using a handgun or bang...

Re: Where to find bait between Tally and St. Mark's Lighthou

Lots of great info! Apparently a shrimp is like a frog. We used to put em in the freezer for a few hours as kids and when they warmed up they revived. Bbb's method seems to be the most simple and efficient way w the newspaper. Did u old school guys use the same method as w the newspaper, but sawdust...

Re: Where to find bait between Tally and St. Mark's Lighthou

Thanks ReelBad! Sounds like a 5gal bucket and a small battery powered aerator will be the way to go. I would love to hear more about how and why the sawdust method works! My guess is that the decaying wood releases O2 into the water acting as an aerator.

Re: How do you subdue sharks?

I would also leave alcohol at the dock. Boating a large shark can be a very dangerous situation. Add booze and a bangstick to that and it could be disastrous! Not preaching, just food for thought. Good luck, and be safe! WHY DID YOU PUT THE ALCOHOL IN THIS POST do you think I am a drunk or a BOOZER...

Re: How do you subdue sharks?

Both methods should be legal to dispatch a shark. Just make sure the shark u dispatch is legal to be harvested. I would also leave alcohol at the dock.
