Re: Leon County: Dove & Duck Question
Thanks Danibeth, I can't tell you how many times I looked at that same page and never noted the section you pointed out, I guess it is time to go see the eye Doctor. By chance do you or anyone else know if this restriction applies to Dove as well? I can't find that either (but it may be right in fro...

Leon County: Dove & Duck Question
Can someone please advise if there are prohibited days to take Dove and Duck in Leon County? Back in the day when we hunted birds hard (15 years ago or so), we couldn't hunt birds in Leon County unless it was a Wednesday, Weekend, or Holiday, is that still the case? I tried to find out the answer on...

Looking for a new Bottom Machine/GPS: Any Suggestions
Good Morning Everyone: After 3 consecutive trips where my Hummingbird 937C acted up on me (wouldn't find a GPS fix location sporadically, cut off/on, etc), it's time to look for another bottom machine/fishfinder/gps (I checked Hummingbird and they no longer repair my machine model) I'm a complete el...

Re: Great Weekend (So Far)
Thanks Gents: Today was another stellar day. Our Church Sermon today was Spot On and it lead over to some good discussions in the deer stand this evening with my oldest daughter. She and I had some great talks (whispers) about today's world and the Bible, it was truly a great evening. As for the hun...

Great Weekend (So Far)
Yesterday, my oldest daughter (15) and I attended the Republican Party of Florida's Sunshine Summit in Orlando and had the opportunity to hear from and meet several of the top Republican Presidential candidates (Rubio, Cruz, Bush, Trump, Carson, Huckabee). I asked my youngest daughter (14) if she wa...

Re: 10/12 & 10/16 Grouper Fishing
The GoPro worked pretty good down on the bottom when it was there. However, since I used the buoy device on it, the GoPro would float back up to the top. Next time I will use more weight to get it to stay on the bottom, I was concerned that if it got snagged and broke the line it wouldn't float back...

10/12 & 10/16 Grouper Fishing
I was fortunate enough to have Monday off, so I hit the water and ran to some close holes that are in Federal Waters. As I was leaving the dock,my bottom machine couldn't find a GPS location, however, a short time later it did, so off I went. I managed to catch 9 gags,3 of which were legal. My first...

Re: GPS Bottom Machine Question
Thanks Captain Ron. In a nutshell, does that mean that if I saved to my SD cards, see the files on my laptop (but can't open them), they are good to go if I drop the SD cards into a new bottom machine? My concern is that since I can't see the files on my laptop, I'm not 100% it's saved everything. W...

Re: GPS Bottom Machine Question
I did not format the SD card, I didn't realize you needed to, i.e. I use them in my game cameras, etc and didn't format them. I will be happy to try to format it if that will help. Any idea how to format an SD card?

GPS Bottom Machine Question
My Hummingbird 937C is starting to act up (not finding the GPS location, etc). In turn, I thought it would be wise to download the waypoints, etc onto a SC card. In turn, I downloaded the information from the machine onto an SD card, however, when I try to open up the card, I get a HWR extention and...

Re: SHARK POPULATIONS
There are absolutely plenty in our area... they are a fun catch and good table fare. I remember when I was a kid you killed any you caught - just like you shot any gator you saw. No doubt our conservation mindset has increased the population to higher levels than we have seen in years. The open sea...

Re: 2015 Saltwater Classic (June19-21)
I have fished the Classic at least 15 times and had a 9 year straight run fishing with my oldest daughter while she was eligible for the Junior Division. I too concur that it appears that it's heading south rather than north and I don't mean that as any disrespect to those volunteers that bust their...
