Callaghan Roofing - Site Sponsor
My brother has been in the roofing business for 30 years, in another state. So, I gave him a call when it came time to replace my roof and asked him how to avoid all of the horror stories I had heard about roofers. His advise was simple, if you know a honest person in the roofing business and he off...

If there is no wind I like to use the small sebile stick shad or a small rapala broken back. It usually works best at dusk.

I've always wanted to. After driving an hour, I can't make myself do it. Rumor hasn't its mostly puppy reds and freshwater fish. You never know till you try.

When you have a bunch of lures you don't mind losing. With these guys you'll lose lures fishing straight braid. Kind of like fishing for Spanish Mackerel with mono.

Re: Cleaning Long-nosed Gar
Gary, my objection to gaftops is not the taste or cleaning them. Storing them in my yak is impossible. I eat fish every week and strongly believe in doing my part to improve the fishery. Improving a fishery can be done by returning fish with superior genetics or removing undesirable fish of all lega...

Flavor is good. Very mild. Texture is like a tough crawfish. I fried the one I tried. I wish I had made a gumbo. I believe the meat is better suited for soups and gumbo. Give them a try. About 40" is a good size to get nice size tenderloins. Be careful when cleaning.

Never feel bad about putting a fish with superior genetics back!! Only good things can happen.
I'll eat most anything, but Salty Gator, I couldn't eat that one!!!

Suwannee bass
I've was looking for largemouth and found suwanees last weekend. 6 of 8 bass I caught were suwanees. I'm no expert, but here are my observations. I fished heavy current with a rocky bottom each time I found them. Their bite fealt more like a light peck and they don't seem to mind the cold. I'm still...

Important Lake Jackson meeting 02/03/15
Having people be able to run around on jet skis and go fast boats should be given no more consideration than opening the Appalachicola National Forest to off road UTV and ATV use. It is not ecologically sound management. So funny!!! Thats exactly how us kayakers feel about mudboats, airboats, and e...

I am pretty sure I saw 7'2" and 7'6".foxtrotuniform wrote:They were all 7'2" medium heavy (or medium fast, whichever they call it). Picked one up this morning. They had about 20 left on the rack. Hard to beat that deal.leonreno wrote:Are there different size rods and that all the same model/length?

Perfect for the kayaker. I've only fished Econfina twice. Both times were like that. We had the river to ourselves.
