I have not done it in probably 10 or so years but during the summer I used to hook up on alot around Mud Cove with my dad when it was too rough for grouper.

Re: Keaton Beach 4/7/12

It has always seemed to me at least that water temp does not have as much effect on fish this time of year. I look at it very closely in the winter and in the summer however. This time of year they are more likely to be turned off by a high pressure front like over the past weekend than by temperatu...

Re: Prop question

FYI on power tech, I bought mine from Bobs Machine shop. You can call power tech and they will recommend a prop for you but if you buy direct they will charge you full retail. They are glad to help you choose and will tell you that you can save by buying from a dealer. They just dont give pricing ot...

Re: Prop question

You can buy PT props from any Vendor and they can send them back for the 50.00. On your question it would seem that a 26 in five blade would be extremely over propped. I am not sure what model you have but I am assuming you have a deep v. A 26 pitch five blade would be a prop for a bass boat or ligh...

For clarification, were you in the channel or around one of the bars to the north of the channel?

Re: To the idiot boater at Spring Warrior....

I was going back in about 3, only had my dad with me and no women so guess it wasnt me. I was fishing a bar about 2 miles away from Fenholloway and trolling it towards the grass and an airboat came between me and the bank about 50 yards away. Kind of irritating. It was calm enough he could have went...

Manual Jackplate for sale $150.00

I have a 6" setback and 6" lift manual jackplate for sale. It was made by Vance Manuafacturing and had Valdosta Outboard engraved on the side. I bought this new about 2 years ago. It is in good shape. I think it is rated to 250hp. The reason for selling is I moved to a hydraulic when I cha...

Re: Looking for a 22 or 23 pitch Tempest Prop

Right now the best I have gotten is 57 mph, was hoping for around 60 with decent holeshot. Yeh I have been a fan of them for a while, I used to have an 1890 and loved it. Kind if a toss up between it and the 1720 for me. For what I do the 1720 edges out the 1890 because it is easier to get around in...

Re: Cedar Key

I actually saw where you or someone else posted about him on another forum. I shot him an email and he responded promptly with good advice on where to avoid rocks. I dont like fishing new places very much unless going with someone that knows the lay of the land so to speak. I know what I can and can...

Re: Looking for a 22 or 23 pitch Tempest Prop

I have exausted all the dealers in my area. I have tried several props and will be trying a 4 blade power tech OFX 21p this weekend. It is going on an action craft 1720 and I just put a Mercury 150 four stroke on it. I have tried the following props. Mercury Laser 2 - 23p, Mercury Revolution - 19(I ...
