Re: TURKEY TRIP TRADE!
Wish I had a place to send them to or a way to help them out. My dad and his two brothers all went to the Citadel. Really hope someone comes through with a hunt for them.

Re: Geenoe with MudBuddy, $1250.00
This will be a good buy for someone...pick up a trolling motor and you'll have a boat that can hunt all of the lakes around Tally.

Re: Croakers in Panacea
You'll catch more croakers in areas with lots of tidal movement and current...around the mouths of rivers, creeks, channels, etc. are all good places. I've had more luck catching them in areas that had mud/shell/grass bottom as opposed to sand. Still don't catch a ton of them around here though. Pig...

Re: Armadillo -- ***UPDATED WITH PA'S SOLUTION***
Fun fact for you...one of an armadillo's defense mechanisms when startled is to jump straight up into the air. I was in 2nd grade the first time I witnessed this little feat. One came walking out onto the playground and everyone, kids and teachers alike, circled around it to watch. Our science teach...

Re: Armadillo -- ***UPDATED WITH PA'S SOLUTION***
That's the best armadillo story I've ever heard/read. I would have burned up and died in that fire...seeing that play out in person would have me rolling on the ground gasping for air.

Re: Armadillo & Bonus Game Trail Question
If you have cats or small pets, I wouldn't risk setting snares. They're effective, but they also don't discriminate. I don't know if it's still the case, but it used to be illegal to release an armadillo, That leaves a few options...shoot them in the trap, drop them in the swimming pool/trashcan fil...

Re: Armadillo & Bonus Game Trail Question
They're easy to trap once you've figured out their travel routes, and it looks like you've found at least 1. Set yourself a live trap with 2 6' boards funneling into the entrance of the trap. Armadillos have poor eyesight and travel along the same paths/corridors routinely...they'll walk right in. A...

Re: Waders
I have no experience with "fishing" waders, but have plenty of experience with hunting waders. Stockingfoot fishing waders and a good pair of wading boots are probably your best bet, but may put you over your budget of $200. I would look into the Cabela's Dry-Plus Breathable Stockingfoot w...

Re: Sunday, 3/9
Bait of choice has varied...I've caught fish on gold spoons, jerkbaits, gulp, redfins, topwater, etc.

Sunday, 3/9
Despite the erratic weather, we've been off to a pretty good start for 2014. The fish still seem to be bunched up pretty good, but find the bait and fish slow, and you should have no problems putting a few nice fish in the cooler. I've had some days where I hammed the trout, and others the reds, but...

Everything in that last picture looks delicious. You've inspired me to look into planting some jalapenos. I put those things in/on everything.

Re: Duck hunting with dogs and gators
Dani, the only close call I've ever had wasn't while duck hunting, but while working with her in a pond that was supposed to be 100% gator-free. I should have known better...there's no such thing as a 100% gator-free pond in FL.

Re: Duck hunting with dogs and gators
If highs have been in the 60's, I'll take mine if I plan to hunt water shallow enough for her to stand. If high's have been in the 40's, I'll take her to hunt deeper water as well, but nothing is ever a sure thing...on one of the coldest, nastiest mornings I've ever hunted Miccosukee, I had an 8 foo...
