Hope you are kidding. Assuming you have enough $ to live (fish), I would think every day is a weekend.

thanks. I find with my fishing that I usually do best before noon, then it slacks off so I either have to stay out there all day to get another run from 4-dark, or go home at 1. Given all of the cleanup and driving, etc., I usually try to get home soon. It also helps the ramp crowd issue. Luck, EJ

Lanark Report from Eddie Joe 10-3-03

Headed out from the marina just before sunup, and when the sun rose it was a beautiful sight. Temp about 60, wind NE 10k. The water clarity has improved. Headed out to a buoy to catch bait, and no pods on the surface, although I caught lots of little blue runners on the bottom. Used my sabiki rod fo...

Mercury? No. Some of the brand new ones are reported to be allright, but they didn't get the name "black anchors" for nothing. My mechanic says: "If you want to go some of time, buy a Johnson, if you want to go fast every now and then, buy a Mercury, if you want to go all of the time,...

Well, the comment about shrimping and seagrass may mostly apply to bait shrimpers, that use roller trawls at night in relatively shallow water. Regular food shrimpers are in deeper water, except for certain times of the year in places like Apalachicola Bay. When commercial scalloping was legal many ...

There is a normal "shed" of seagrass blades toward the end of the summer. As you may know, they are a flowering plant.

Environmental conditions can make the shed more extreme. This can happen from wind, fresh water, or tidal conditions. Looks like this year is a big shed.

Its surely a tradeoff. I like PP for the sensitivity and diameter/strength ratio. It allows me to use smaller, lighter tackle for the same job that I used to use big stuff for.

Tom's reply is excellent. To his choice for conventional or levelwind tackle, I would add a Shimano TLD 15, spooled with either 20 lb mono or 50 lb Power Pro, a 6.5 or 7 foot medium action composite rod. I like leverdrag reels like the TLD's for livebaiting or trolling, even though I also have a Shi...

Yeah, it looked like the stock in reels might not be bad, although I did not price shop. Most rods were low end, except for some Redbone spinning rods. The rest of the place is generally Target or Walmart level goods. Tallahassee could still use a quality tackle shop that didn't try to rob you (like...

Jon is right on. Note on the FWC web site lists that the original equipment used to capture the number is indicated (e.g., LORAN, GPS, GPS w/differential). If it was in LORAN, the L/L is usually a mathematical calculation from a computer program, which are not precise. Also, a number in GPS can be 3...

SR: I have found that the 12V models have much smaller capacity than the 110V versions. With a trailer tire that takes high pressure to fill, it meant that I burned up (literally, it melted) the 12V pump filling my trailer tires a few times. The 110v version does fine, and I found it was worth runni...

Plug:

I saw a boat parked near the St. Marks Channel, on the east side, with I think four people in it as I motored in from 24. Time was about 4. Was that you? I was in a 17' Aquasport, 115 yam, by myself.

Tom: I was out there at almost the exact same time. I trolled around the 24 barge for just a few minutes, as I was field testing my motor since it was repaired. Not any bait on the barge. I did run about a mile north and there were gulls and bait getting hammered. I tossed out a nylure on light spin...
