Carrabelle 5/19 - Nearshore grouper and snapper
Got invited over to fish with a friend of mine on his new to him boat. I've fished some off of Mexico beach in my bay boat but not been to Carrabelle. Stayed at The Moorings and we ate at Boss Oyster Friday night, pretty darn good hunk of blackened redfish. He had some issues with brand new reels ea...

Re: Trailer Assist
I know it is a questionable practice but after changing a few tires on the side of the road/interstate I changed my lug nuts to an acorn type stainless steel nut that leaves no threads exposed and added anti-seize to the studs to help in removal and maybe help seal out some of the saltwater. Where ...

Re: heading to Steinhatchee june 7
As far as boating/fishing courtesy just be prepared for the occasional airboat cutting between you and the grass line or creek mouth or running close enough to mist you... :-? I've not found that flats/drift fishing has much in the way of interference/proximity issues although we did have someone se...

Re: Trailer Assist
Glad you got it resolved and still had time to fish. I know it is a questionable practice but after changing a few tires on the side of the road/interstate I changed my lug nuts to an acorn type stainless steel nut that leaves no threads exposed and added anti-seize to the studs to help in removal a...

Re: Keep hand sanitizer on the boat and use it!
Wow this one went sideways unexpectedly :-? Gary glad you are doing better, "burkha in a kayak" could be a Big Bend fashion trend! Had a local man get into the tissue eating bacteria problem a year or to ago while at Keaton Beach and just about died. SK isn't that betadine stuff the kind t...

Re: Soft plastics?
Back when Bomber made soft plastic I liked their 5” jerk bait in white but no longer available and I’m almost out of them after buying every bag I could find at some discount online clearance place. DOA and Saltwater Assain are my goto now. Gulp works but hate the oily slime in the boat and on my ha...

Steinhatchee report 4/6/18 Wow!
The Hooked on Heroes event was cancelled yesterday due to weather forecast for Saturday so when I checked in with my buddy he said “lets go tonight and fish Friday”. This morning started out cool with a light breeze, went north and things were just dead a couple of shorts and 1 keeper. Headed south ...

Re: Steinhatchee
Haven't been recently but a buddy of mine went Saturday and Monday, he said they caught tons of trout Saturday all around 14 1/2" out on the flats, mostly on plastics but some bites on hard baits. He didn't do nearly as well on Monday fishing the same areas but did manage to boat a couple of ke...

Re: Annoying tap talk pop up
I've noticed the popup again too. I clicked on the Tapatalk popup and then when it opens I close the app. Seems to block it from popping up for a while. Apparently there are enough members using it to keep it aggravating the rest of us
YMMV

He may be dealing with the old style proprietary Garmin memory stick drive which requires a special reader and pre-Windows 7 os if I recall correctly.

Steinhatchee 12-02-17 Report
Splashed the boat around 9:30 with the solunar tables showing a max day and mid-day tides so I had high expectations for the admiral and her lowly deck hand. Quite a few boats at the county ramp so others had the same idea apparently. Headed south in the calmest water I've seen in a good while, fish...

Steinhatchee 11/4/17
What an absolute awesome day! Hit the water about 10:30 after the negative low tide and headed south. Water temp was 67 degrees and a bit dingy looking, not a lot of floating grass initially. Stopped in about 7’ to get setup and first cast my wife lands a fat 18” trout, for the next hour I never pic...
