Carrabelle, where to launch my boat.

I wonder if any of you guys that fish out of Carrabelle would tell me what places are available to launch a boat to go off shore at Carrabelle? I would like to plan a trip out of there but would like some info first. Any other issues or hazards that I might need to know about would be greatly apprec...

Keaton Off Shore

I took my 17y/o son and a friend of his fishing yesterday. We arrived at Keaton Beach Marina around 7:00, no long line like there was Saturday. Got lifted right away and headed out to catch pin fish. After filling the live-well with pin fish we headed off shore. NOAA was forecasting 1 foot seas or l...

Over night off shore fishing trip.

I’ve been considering an over night fishing trip off shore, this would be my first overnight venture. I haven’t picked a date yet (waiting for the right weather) but I want to set out midmorning or noon on day 1, fish out to some numbers 30 miles off shore, anchor up for the night and fish my wa...

Thanks for the pics and the report. I wonder how this "sure enough cold snap" will affect the trout out on the flats now.

Ive been using fluorocarbon leader for 2 years now I've used SeaGuard and Triple Fish brands. I use a (polymer knot) when tying to lures or swivels, and a (blood knot) when tying line to leader. Fluorocarbon is much stiffer then mono and does have some memory, but it poses no problems to me. I use 3...

A Great day at Keaton

Hooked to the boat Saturday morning and headed to Keaton Beach, got to the marina at around 7:15. There were about 10 boats ahead of us at the lift so we put in at the little ramp, only had to 2 boats ahead of us there. By 7:45 we were heading out of the channel, at maker #3 we turned south toward t...

I use the little ramp at KBM quite often. Its not great but much faster than the lift and a lot less channel to navigate. There is a dock to right of the ramp but one of those long crab boats is always docked along it. When I get down to the lift if there are more than a couple boats ahead of me I j...

Satruday at Keaton Beach.

Saturday morning we headed down to Kenton Beach. Got the boat in the water about 7:30 headed out the channel and then south to the bird rack. The wind was blowing a little harder than I had anticipated with as much fog as there was, but no problem. My son and I caught a couple dozen pinfish then poi...

Back years ago I fished out of Enconfina with a friend of mine in his boat, I believe he had to replace a prop and have his scag welded during the 2 years I fished with him. 2 year ago I drove down to Enconfina one March afternoon with the intent of lunching my boat there, as I watched the incoming ...
