Re: Rookie asking for help, fishing St Marks
I am retired and fish mainly the mash sands, alligator point area and catch reds, blues, jacks, and mackeral on a regular basis. I always fish tuesdays and thursdays. I have a 17' bass tracker and if you are willing to share expenses I would love to show you around.

Re: Mercury Marine Manufacturing Video Clip
My merc 40 is 19 years old and the only problem I ever had was water in the tank. Purged the water and takes a likin' and keeps on tickin'.

bass lures in saltwater?
Being a fisherman from Wisconsin and recently moved to Florida, my tackle box was full of bass, northern pike, walleye and muskie lures. While fishing off Mashes sands I decide to put on a horny toad in white, no jig head just the worm hook. Pulled that across the flats and within 10 seconds had an ...

anchor pole reinvented
While fishing with a friend in Port Charlotte he showed me his anchor pole. A fiberglass 8' rod with a handle at top and a plastic rope attached. He would shove this into the sand, grass, oyster bar to anchor the boat. He could have bought a "power pole" for $1800 or this one for $100. So ...

In the past I have used the sand ramp on the north side of Alligator harbor. Anyone used it lately? Best tide to launch? Fishing success in this area?

Re: Is anybody fishing?
Went out in my Bass Tracker from Mashs sands about 9am. Nice and calm. Tried the oyster bars near pier at Bald Point. Nothing but a guy was fishing from his yak and getting nice trout on a lure(?). Moved from there to off beach at Mash and got two small mackeral trolling white bucktails. Kept moving...

fishing St Joe with guide
He really busted his ... but the fish just did not want to cooperate. We launched at Presnell's and motored across to the quiet side of the bay almost out of the hefty wind. Used topwater, DOA on small jigs, chug bugs, dynamite( not really). Caught one 22" trout and that was it for the day. Gue...
