Re: dunking reels?

I only do it if I know the reel has been submerged several times in one day in salt water. For example, swimming out to the sandbar to cast. When I get home I take the reel off and toss it in a bucket of fresh water for 20-30 minutes. Then I swish it around real good and take it out to let dry. I fi...

Re: Live shrimp in Talley

Rocky's always has shrimp. I asked them one time and they said they will always have shrimp and it doesn't matter the time of year. I have yet to go there and prove them wrong. I hate trying to find shrimp in the morning before sunrise.

Ditto. I hate Comcast. It's absurd what I pay for cable each month when I only watch about 20 channels and this was one of them. Thanks for the info! I'm curious if anyone has been able to completely disconnect from cable and what they did.

Hmmm. That's a good deal and almost 3/4 lb lighter for the average 16ft model. Is there an 18ft model?

Re: Indian pass campground boat ramp

If the tide is going out or coming in it can be tricky to launch there. The water can move through there pretty good. You can pick up your riders further down by the campground. Be VERY careful in the bay directly to the north and NW of the ramp. It is loaded with oyster bars and balls that are very...

Re: Fresh water

I don't know about clarity but it always darkens up after some gulley washer storms... http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/index.php?wfo=tae Here's a link from USGS that shows the flow at each of their gauges. If you hover over each of them it shows water level. Some have the kcfs which is 1000 cubic fee...

Re: Kayaks and Gators

I don't worry about the gators in a yak but if you have a dog around larger gators you are ringing the dinner bell for them and they will eventually come. You have to get used to them and just be careful around them. I had a gator problem 2 years ago at Rhoden Cove on Lake Jackson in the summer. It ...
