Re: Trolling for grouper
You don't need wire for grouper trolling. I use 30 or 40 lb braid which seems to track better and deeper than mono.

Car engine
Anyone have an idea of how to get rid of a car engine that was left on a piece of property I own? Any scrap guys that would have a way to lift and load it?

Re: looking for fishing partner for louisiana
Can't go with you but wish I could. I have fished South Louisiana many times and believe November to be the absolute best month for redfish in the marsh. The area from Golden Meadow/Catfish Lake to Grand Isle is my favorite. One thing I would caution you on is to check for when duck season opens and...

Re: Mercury service
I'll second the recommendation for Pete at Sunshine Boats. They have always done a first-rate job keeping my 1999 Merc 150 two-stroke in good shape.

RIP Glen Campbell
Dead at 81 after struggling for too many years with the dreaded Alzheimer's. What a musical talent he was. Those who knew him primarily for his many hits may never have realized what a fantastic self-taught guitarist he was. Here is one of my favorites in a session he did with Leon Russell. https://...

Re: Chandeleur Islands
I did one of these 23 years ago for my bachelor party. Can't remember the name of the boat or the cap but it sure was a way to pass a good time!

Re: Sale on Gulp baits
I agree with you Silver, the cats and pins do love them, but so do the trout. I've had days where they would not touch a DOA or whatever else I had but I could save the day with a new penny Gulp. I don't always use them, but I always like to have some along. Steve, I noticed also the softer formulat...

Sale on Gulp baits
Was in Dick's Sporting Goods in Tallahassee yesterday and they have Gulp packs on sale 4 for $20 this week only, and with a $10 rebate Gulp has going if you buy 4 packs net cost is $2.50 a pack. They had a pretty good selection of the most popular colors.

Re: Sibiki Rig St Marks
What they said. I shorten the sabiki up to only two hooks for pins on the flats. Lot less tangles and they usually bite the bottom hooks anyway.

Thanks for the replies. The hub is old and I probably would be better off getting a new one.

Prop repair?
Is there any place in the Tallahassee area that rebuilds rock-damaged aluminum props? Or a recommended shop in another area I could ship it to?
Sure glad I was not running the stainless; shaft and seals appear to be ok.

Re: Grilling fish????
For me, depends on the fish. For redfish, I drizzle on butter and fresh lemon juice, and sprinkle a little Tony Cachere's creole seasoning on it. For trout, I use very little other than salt and pepper with butter and lemon.
