Redfish measured 26 3/4 inch and the trout was 24 inches. It got real slow after 9:15 and only managed another small red. https:...

Re: In the creek mouths and on the outside edges!

Thanks for the tips! I am going to try to get out there tomorrow early in the morning. Looks like it will be an incoming tide all day. Last weekend I put in at the lighthouse and luckily my boat drafts shallow enough that I was the only one launching.

Re: In the creek mouths and on the outside edges!

How did you fish for snook and reds in Bradenton ? I've never fished there but I gotta think there is some common ground ? Depends.Typically Snook liked a moving tide and structure (docks, bridges, mangroves). During the Summer the bait would move inshore and you could find snook on the flats. Also...

Re: In the creek mouths and on the outside edges!

I have only caught reds trolling oyster bars. It's usually a bad day when I don't catch one -- which happened to be la...

Re: Finding Live Bait

Umbrella Cove at the East tip of Dog Isl. You will see the boats stacked up in there tossing cast nets early each morning before all the beer drinkers show up. I grew up fishing Tampa Bay where you HAD to have live greenbacks to catch any decent sized snook or reds. The heavy fishing pres...

Re: Live Bait

Sounds good.

On a different, but related note--is it possible to wade fish from wakulla beach? I have a kayak, but my wife may want to tag along some times. Anyone have any luck around there?

Live Bait

Just bought my first kayak and want to drop her in at Wakulla Beach when the weather warms a bit. I live in tallahassee and was wondering if there was a place to pick up some live shrimp on the way? To be honest, i've never been down that way.

Re: Lake Jackson 7/23/13 (Rhoden Cove and Crowder rd)

New to the site and freshwater fishing (big saltwater fisherman). I just got my hands on a 14ft fiberglass jon boat. Where do you suggest launching at Lake Jackson?
