I will be spending the weekend with some old classmates of mine on Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville. Anyone know much about it? I don't want to carry my 7'6" pole on the roof if I won't have much use for it.
Thanks

Fishing with "breakfast"
I just had an interesting conversation with a client about his recent fishing trips. He seemed to have been having alot of success 18miles SW out of St Marks. He shared with me something called "fishing with breakfast." He puts squid inside a small mackerel and fishes off the bottom. He gu...

Re: Penn battle 4000
I was shopping for Memorial Day vittles this past weekend and saw two nice rigs at Costco. I picked up a Shimano surf/in-shore rod and intended to buy it until saw some of the guide grommets fall out. I put it back and decided to pass. It was a 4000 series shimano rod and reel, cannot recall the mod...

How did your trip to MMP go? I was in Marianna visiting for Mothers Day.

Re: Merritt's Mill Pond - Saturday 5/10
I would put in at the Arrowhead BP gas station on Hwy 90. Its a decent ramp and you will be at the southern end of the pond, allowing you to not waste a lot of time and run the length of it if you choose.

Re: Merritt's Mill Pond - Saturday 5/10
Ahh my hometown... The "shell cracker," or Red Ear Sunfish is the prize of MMP. Be careful because the minimum size (unless it has been changed) is 12". There was a vegetation outbreak years back and they have tried a variety of methods to kill it. Hydrilla took over and one of the so...

Re: Lanark - Dog Island - St Marks
based on your descriptions, i would agree on Goliath. I was only using 12# Seagar red label fluorocarbon tied directly to 20# Yozuri fluoro leader.
i wanted to see this fish so badly, but he won.

Re: Lanark - Dog Island - St Marks
We launched at Lanark Village and headed straight to Carrabelle Reef. Piddled around there for a few hours and, although we got some nice hits, we only pulled in one keeper Mangrove snapper and some trash fish. I hooked up something really big, fought it for about 30 minutes and eventually my line b...

Lanark - Dog Island - St Marks
Going out tomorrow morning for the first time this year. Despite the rain, we still look to bring some fish home. Where has everyone been having the most success in those areas?
