Re: St Marks flats 5-16-15
Sounds about like our day except for your keeper. Great day on the water though!

St.Marks 16 May 15
Buddies and I fished marker 17--East River bars--east of lighthouse with not one keeper. Caught ample hard heads, rays, ladyfish, two short black drum, one short trout, and to round out the day, a smooth-skinned puffer. It was a virtual trash can slam, but beautiful day on the water and you can't to...

Re: St. Marks 4/16-18
Launched at the lighthouse on Saturday and fished till about 15:00. Managed one Spanish on live shrimp out in front of the lighthouse. Fished East River on the incoming and managed only hardheads. Ran into some buddies of mine and they boated a nice sheepshead in the East earlier in the day. iSoluna...

Re: St. Marks 3 Apr 15
Great fighters indeed! I was surprised at how hard it fought. Appreciate the additional tips. I attended your last flats seminar and recall you telling us how they react to puffs of sand on the bottom. This was a surprise catch. Passively fishing the shrimp under a bobber amounted to just good luck ...

Thanks for the report! I need to make over to Ecofina from Tally soon. On Friday we saw the FWC 'mothership' headed out the channel markers. Ran into a buddy of mine while we were on the water who had been to East River at St. Marks and he said FWC had boats with blue lights going all over the place...

Hey, Terrier, we saw you there in the blue kayak. I figured that was you from kayak fishing long bar several weeks ago and reading a later trip report by you. I have a green Gheenoe Classic and also kayak fish out of an Ocean Kayak Big Game II in urban camo. Great to see you out there! I saw you cat...

St. Marks 3 Apr 15
Buddy and I launched at the lighthouse and fished long bar area for the day. Managed a 21" trout and the surprise of the day was a 16" pompano. I had a shrimp under a cork and rod in rod holder with my back turned and hear my drag screaming (love that sound!). Picked up my rod and was met ...

Re: Catching report
Did you land the tarpon? I've never hooked one before. That would be one heck of a surprise!

Re: Catching report
Buddy and I fished from mouth of East River to flats off the light house. Out in front of the light house was most productive with lots of trout. Live shrimp worked the best for us today. Water temp ranged from 68 to 71.

Re: Lake Talquin -- old river channel
That's pretty neat. Thanks for sharing! There is an aerial map of talquin from the last time it was drawn down. http://gigapan.com/gigapans/32547 It has been useful, namely in getting familiar with the lake itself for the last couple years.. Ive generally had no issues running my boat anywhere west ...

I will be there and am looking forward to it. You can just throw all those door prizes in my truck when I pull up. Thanks, Keith Your fellow classmates would probably hang me with the fuel dock hose if I did. Yep! There is no doubt that would happen! I'm also looking forward to the seminar.

Re: Lake Talquin -- old river channel
Yeah, I hear you. I don't even have a full year yet of fishing Talquin. Last summer, shortly after acquiring my boat, I was all smiles running WOT throttle about a half mile south of the curtain toward the north shore and hit what I think was a stump. Got my attention real quick and thought I knocke...
