Re: Cape Horn Boats

Thanks to everyone for all the great responses! The more I research, the more I find the going consensus that Cape Horn produces a no frill boat built for fishing. This was exactly what I was looking for. Hopefully I will get some time off in the near future and I will post a review!

Re: Cape Horn Boats

I run a 2002 Cape Horn 22' Bay boat. They are built like a tank, very solid. Mine has a 200hp Mercury carbed motor, so no help with the Yamaha. Love my boat but it does lack some storage space. With cost of new boats it will be a long time before I consider buying a new boat over what I have now. W...

Cape Horn Boats

I am not sure if this is in the right section or not, so forgive me if I misposted. Does anyone on here run a Cape Horn? I just purchased a 2002 Cape Horn 21 ft Off shore with 225 Yamaha 2 stroke ox66. I got if from a farmer over in Mariana and the whole rig has been well taken care of (289 original...

Re: Chum Churn

I bought one that was in the "for sale" section... :-D Can't wait to try it out :smt026 Now that I have one in hand the construction looks simple- except for the blades. Your welcome to look at mine - and I may be convinced to loan it to you for a trip. I saw that last night, you got a he...

Chum Churn

Hello everyone! I haven't posted in a while, been swamped at work and a career change, not to mention I sold my boat. I am now back in business and recently purchases a Cape Horn 21 offshore, cant wait to get back out there! A while back I posted about a chum dispenser that I saw another guy using o...

Re: Opinions on best conventional reel for jigging snapper!

The Avet Sx Raptor is amazing for jigging, casting or bottom fishing. It is lightweight, smaller than a tennis ball and produces 17lbs of drag. I am a huge fan of American craftsmanship and generally fish the old style American made Penns. Avet is hand crafted in California and machines all their ow...

Re: Cobia in Carrabelle

I think they go for $150, how's $100 sound? I also put a steel safety lanyard with clip on it so as to not drop it overboard. I have a buddy that has one too and I'm sure he would sell his as well since he doesn't have a boat anymore in case someone else is interested. http://i1279.photobucket.com/...

Re: Cobia in Carrabelle

Quick question. I saw another boat that was chumming with what looked like a pvc pipe shaped almost like a candy cane. They would dip it into the water and shake it up and down (i think to release the chum). We had been there for about 2 hours before we caught the nice cobia, but they had caught two...

Cobia in Carrabelle

Finally got on some big Cobia in Carrabelle free-lining blue runners. Caught a nice 42 pounder. I tried to post a pic, hopefully it links up.
