Thirty, forty years ago I had that problem also. What I learned to do to correct it for me was as soon as the lure touched the water was pull the rod tip to me to straighten the slack. Next was to be careful how hard you twitch the lure on the retrieve. Flip it gently side to side or even up and down...

Dear Sir,
Actually the water temp was 61 to 64 most of the places we caught fish. The main difference in the locations we fished was the clarity of the water. It was either stained or dark or light I'm trying to remember which. lol.
Location,location,location.

Half came on topwater, half on cj with candy corn and glow doa. We caught fish from 8am til 2pm. We started at Rock Island and fished back to the river. Most fish came from 2' or less. Three of my buddies fished near us and got 2 reds 23&24" on jerk baits. Show me your spots first and I'll s...

My granddaughter and I fished Econfina Sunday. We got our limit of nice trout from 18 to 21 inches and a 18" flounder. The best part was when Christina caught her first trout on topwater. The 18" fish exploded clear of the water about 4 feet from the boat. I thought for a moment she was go...

D.O.A. is good to use under thunder because it sinks slowly. The best part is it comes with its' own hook.

I agree with a few things the others have said. My success with ct's is achieved in different methods from those descibed, The single most effective difference is a 12 to 18 inch leader of 25# flouracarbon and a 1/8 to 1/16 ounce jig head.

We fished Econfina Sunday morning. Left the ramp at 6:30 a.m. We were on our hole at 6:45. Air temp was 52 water temp was 65, fog so thick you could not see the end of the boat at times. Fished topwater by sound and feel because you could not see your plug. We kept 10 trout mostly 19 to 23 inches by...

CSMARINE we fished from where the two rivers come together to the old Port Leon docks. They bit on the rising tide and the falling tide only. About a hour either side. Nothing in between.

Me and my buddy Steve Brawner fished the St.Marks yesterday. Two trout 18" one red 25" and 35 more reds 15-17". All caught on straight grubs and mirrolures. Yes it was very windy and very cold.

For what it is worth I feel I have the same problem with the sparkle/glitter Fishbites. They do dissolve more quickly. After noticing this I switched back to my white colored standby and they fished 5 to 1 longer.

It may be too late now. You should have had the needlefish weighted and measured. Sounds like a state record to me.
