Re: Apalach east bay help

East Bay is where to be in the colder months but the area is treacherous to maneuver around. Winter tide will be setting in and you can run aground in areas you will not think you will. Best way for people who do not know where the bad areas are is to enter from the south under the bridge from Eastp...

Re: West Pass question

SW1, It's quite a ways from any ramp to the West Pass, plus, as several mentioned, it is a little tricky to follow the bar down a ways before you cut out. Sikes cut is your best bet. If its rough in the cut you probably don't need to be offshore anyway. If you use Sikes cut when you get past the en...

Re: SGI report

Today, Thursday, was not bad. Went to the East Pass and had a few cats and a dozen sharks. There was a ton of baitfish which the spanish macks were all over. Wished I had a gotcha with me... Went to the East Pelican Reef north of Goose Island, and a couple of holes near there, and had a few keeper r...

Re: SGI report

Been here since Tuesday and it has been a bit tough. Yesterday in the bay, off the dock which is just west of Rattlesnake Cove, a few smaller flounders were caught on minnows. I caught a small speck on a Paul Brown plug. This morning on the surf, 2 catfish, 1 ladyfish and 1 leather neck in 3 hours ...

Re: Fishing St George Island at night

Take a look at the solunar calendar and fish the better times when the tides are moving. Old bridge holds flounders, specks and reds.

Re: Anyone know how the Pompano Bite is going?

On SGI I caught 14 over three days on the surf. At the cut they are thick and this AM was told the East Pass has them thick now as well. A week ago only Ladyfish was being caught there. Go pretty much anywhere on the gulf side of the island and set up. Sand Flea fishbites work the best. Baited with ...

Re: SGI

I will be heading down mid-late week next week and will add my two cents when possible. Probably not surf fishing but staying on east end, bay side with boat. Good luck!

Re: SGI area fishing

I won't be down until the end of April. What I have found that works in the past are live and dead shrimp, gulps, cut bait, grubs,...just depends. Try different things at different things at different spots until you find something working. Go to SGI Outfitters on the island and talk to Larry and An...

Re: SGI area fishing

Botton fishing at the cut and the east end. Nick's hole (near airport), Goose Island and Little St George just west of the cut are not bad spots. Look for the three crosses as you get onto the island just east of the bridge. Good spot as well. Their is also the bar just east of St Vincent Island...g...
