Re: WiFi boosters and antennas

Wifi "boosters" are snake oil. Because of the single duplex nature of wireless, that repeater can actually cause collision issues, retransmits, and TCP reconstruction issues. They are crap, full stop. I would strongly recommend against running copper out there as you expose your house's gr...

Back in the offshore game after ~15 years and I'm struggling a bit. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Morning y'all! I'll do my best to keep this from turning into a wall of text as I can be a little long winded. I really haven't done much offshore fishing since about 2005. Back then, my fishing partner at the time got numbers from an unknown source that were more or less due south out of Econfina i...

Re: Does anyone know how to fix a sticky Shimano T-handle?

Thank you Jim ^^

CLR did the trick. I'm actually extremely meticulous with reel care. This one just didn't want to cooperate for some reason. Hell I have a 15 year old Penn baitcaster that goes out with me every weekend.

Re: Does anyone know how to fix a sticky Shimano T-handle?

I'm trying the CLR. I was initially a little wary of going too far up the PH scale on solvents. If that don't work, I'm buying another Okuma :)

Does anyone know how to fix a sticky Shimano T-handle?

Does anyone know how to fix these shimano t handles that get sticky and hard to turn? It’s riveted on. I’ve tried soaking in various solvents, spinning it with a drill while dripping oil in, everything I can think of. It’s off a Shimano Saros 4000

Re: Budget Rod/reel options

After a pretty sorry couple of Penn Battle II's, I found these. https://www.okumafishing.com/en/product/azores-spinning-reel.html They're 100 bucks on Amazon for the 4000 size(exact model is Z-40S) and have been absolutely bulletproof all year. They have a ratchet and a one way bearing anti-reverse ...

Re: New Penn Reels

I never realized all of those brands were owned by the same company. Everything is like that now. Media, Telco, Manufacturing, even TV stations. I have a couple of Penn battle 2's and a couple of Shimano Sedonas. The shimano's have a smoother retrieve the penns are crisper when closing the bail. Dr...

Re: Who said only redfish hit gold spoons?

I really like the new ones with the better hook. Those red hooks always gave me trouble.

Not a great fishing day, but captured a double rainbow

Wakulla Beach. Fishing wasn't great due to a couple of kids pulling up next to me in an aluminum boat and making enough noise to spook every fish for 300 yards but I got some nice views.
