Advice Newport Park
Going to get some camping in before it gets too hot. I'm staying at Newport Park it'll be my first time, always seen it from the road and wanted to try it. I talked to the lady on the phone and she said that have a ramp there. Better to launch there and run the river to the flats or trailer to fort ...

Re: Tips for targeting flounder
Don't really target them in our area, but on the east coast I know people throw mudminnows on jigheads at them in creeks. Target your typical ambush points, grass points, shell and where creeks or channels come together, also off jetties. Not sure how much help that is but I spent a week fishing st ...

Re: Aucills River question
Yes it goes underground a couple times. Don't know much about pitching crickets north of 98 but that has worked in any other river I've ever fished, around here at least.

Re: FINE PER FISH OVER THE LIMIT
Sometimes I camp and don't really have anywhere to comfortably clean fish that would be the only situation where the possession rule could give me issues. One time I went back to back days forgot to take to cooler from the first day out of the truck, so I remembered on the way down pulled over on th...

Re: FINE PER FISH OVER THE LIMIT
I unfortunately have a bit of insight here. I few years ago, me and a buddy decided to go out on a fishing trip out of Econfina for a couple days. We fished for two days and stayed out on the water overnight. We thought, since the daily limit was 5 per day, and we were out there for two days we cou...

Re: It's about that time..
To answer my own question, I caught my first 3 Spanish of the year today and briefly hooked up with a cobe. Water temp was about 75.Dixie Dawg wrote:Surface temp got up to almost 75 Wednesday. Isn't the magic number consistent 78 or so Before the flats livin back up with migrations?

Re: Berkley Inshore spinning rods
I may try to take the clarus back. It's the blank on the terramar that is bend but it doesn't seem to affect the performance of the rod. Still cast well and have probably caught 50+ redfish on it the last couple months, just looks off so I'm going to leave it be. Now that I say this it'll probably b...

Re: Berkley Inshore spinning rods
I just picked one of these up after snapping the tip off of a shimano clarus. Haven't had it on the water yet, but it feels great in hand for a $50 rod. Only noticeable difference so far between it and some of my higher end rods is weight. It's a little on the heavy side. I'll reply again once I us...

Re: Berkley Inshore spinning rods
I wish they'd would put the falcon coastal rod back on sale for $60. That's a sweet little trout rod for the price IMO.

Re: It's about that time..
How often do you guys spot cobia inshore? Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk It's not an every trip thing but if you keep your eyes open you see them here and there. That's just me I don't really target them, I'm sure the guys who are chumming and targeting cobia specifically see them more. I've ...
