Re: Wind speed
I'll ( inshore)fish in 10-15 depending on direction and area. But I wouldn't call 10-15 ideal. I like to see 5-10, or even better, 5. It's difficult to sight fish when the wind is over 10 in most places ( unless it's coming from shore). For offshore it needs to be less than 10, or you will probably...

Re: Wind speed
Depends on boat size. 20kts is doable but very tough fishing, anything over that I'm staying home. 10-15 and under is ideal.

You would have been hard pressed today to get out before 10. You might have but that north wind was STIFF. No water all day.mpa_72001 wrote:Hit I bet I could get out way before 10 unless there's a North wind .

Re: St Marks 2/20
Nice mess of fish there that flounder will make a good dinner. What was the temp of the water? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Unless my new Humminbird was wrong it said 70. I was surprised it would be that warm. But last time out it was 65 and we have had no cold weather since then. 70 is proba...

Re: Flats or Creek?
I have noticed a of fishless reports from the week end. My sons didn't have much luck either. How were the tides this week end? Tides were awful.... we found some reds, but it was hard to get them to eat. We got a few nice ones, but had to work hard for them ( and hit a rock and busted driveshaft)....

Re: Flats or Creek?
Sometimes I wonder if an outboard motor stimulates a fish to bite. So many times I have stopped and first cast BOOM and then nothing. I know it's probably just coincidence but it happens enough to make me wonder.

Re: Z-man scented shrimp VS Gulp
Did people catch trout before gulp was invented? I can't remember.
But seriously I'm all about z man especially during the summer with all the pinfish. Only thing I don't like about them is they are so light you almost have to go up in lead size to get a good long cast.

Yes there is a very real concern about rocks at the aucilla. No channel markers at all.

15 Yamaha 2 stroke
I have a late 90s model 2 stroke Yamaha, I'm having issues with the last couple times out. It cranks and runs fine for the most part but when I hold it wide open for a while like 10 or so minutes it's running hot and losing power. Had someone tell me it could be the thermostat. If so is it like and ...

Re: How to fish oyster bars on the flats?
I cast around the edges not directly on top usually. Cast on the back edge to ambush points where current is pulling over. They are usually in clusters so If you don't have a trolling motor just line a drift directly over them once they are covered in water. Anchor and throw live bait to the deep si...
