Re: Soon To Be A Big Bend "Local"

First two months have been a blast! Looking for a Gheenoe currently and if I sell my "fun car" I will probably be picking up a Carolina Skiff 218DLV. There are some super nice people down here that I have met in my fishing adventures on the piers and shore fishing. Super happy to be a &quo...

Soon To Be A Big Bend "Local"

Well after 8 years of visiting and working part time for a company down there, I will be retiring from my LE job in July and moving to 11 acres we bought a couple miles inland of Oyster Bay in Medart to work full time for the same company. Can't wait to start learning the fishing and hunting in's an...

Re: Fishing Seasons

Cobia, Tarpon, Kingfish, and other migratory species come up the coast from South Fl and stay with us throughout the Summer. Summer fishing can slow down, but there will be fish to catch all year round. A Summer or two ago, it rained nearly every day, and that year was terrible for fishing, but we ...

Re: Fishing Seasons

Thanks! Exactly what I need.

So are cobia and tarpon to only ones that only come through during certain times?

Does the bite slow down completely in the dead of summer?

Re: Fishing Seasons

Sorry, should have been more specific.

Fishing Seasons

I've been coming down to the big bend for work for about 3 years now and try and fish every time I come. Looks like I'll be moving to the area in the summer of 2018. One thing I still haven't figured out is the normal "best" time frame for fishing certain species. As I under stand it some ...

Hey Terrier!!

I was sent to see you from the fishing forum. I want to try my hand at fly fishing at NWR, but at the same time I want to take my kids with me and they will most likely be float fishing from shore. Should I just leave the fly rods at home and fish with them, or can I possibly have luck from shore/kn...

Re: July 1st - July 4th in Panacea/St. Marks

Awesome! Thanks! The public ramp at Mashes Sands as in the one about 3 or 4 blocks before the dead end on the right or is there another one? If I remember correct it's like an inlet. Fish near the ramp or the back of that peninsula? I will PM him for sure. Thanks again. I am trying to get the kids i...

July 1st - July 4th in Panacea/St. Marks

I will be down with my family this coming July and I want to take the kids fishing. We have fished Wolley Park Pier and some private docks in St. Teresa before but I would like to do something different this time. I really liked walking out to the point at St. Marks out by the lighthouse and it seem...
