Keaton 2/25

Had planned to take the ladies fishing today but lost one due to injury from the excessive yard work we did yesterday. My better half had to sit this one out but there was no way the boat was leaving town without the yungin in it. We hit the water at about 9:45 and fished until 1:30. Trout were stac...

Re: Where'd the fish go?

May want to try some of those spots you have marked further out on the flats. 5-6 feet of water. I went out Monday and beat up on the trout 3 miles out. 6 inch pink shine gulp fluke on 1/8th ounce head slow bounced along the bottom. I couldn't keep the pin fish off it so I switched to a sinking mirr...

Keaton Beach

Finally got out on the water this weekend. One of the guys from a sister property in Colorado was here helping with some tractor work and he had never been salt water fishing. Took him out at Keaton to try to get some trout for a fish fry. Made a short run to a spot I had marked last fall and on his...

Hows the fishing?

Been getting things ready for the upcoming hunting season so I haven't been fishing in quite some time. The girls are itching to get on the water so I was going to head out this Saturday. Anything happening around Keaton, Steinhatchee or St Marks. Looking for some trout, reds or flounder. Thanks for...

St George Island

Good morning all. My boss came to me this morning and asked me if I would take him and some clients out fishing on my boat this Saturday. They have a house on the bay side of St George island not far from the bridge. I have to take out two separate groups. I have only fished the bay once and that wa...

Keaton 4/1

I got on the water around 8:30 and headed out to a few spots I had marked last June to try to catch some trout for dinner. I could have been back on the trailer by 10 with my limit of trout. All the holes I had marked had trout on them. lots of 14.5 inchers but some 20 plus inchers to. All in 4.5 to...

Re: Keaton beach Saturday 3/11

Like I said. I knew better but the pliers were alllllll the way up in the front of the boat. Like a whole 15 feet away. The Gorilla glue was closer and the fish were biting. The choices we have to make. :)

Keaton beach Saturday 3/11

Was at Keaton Myself on Saturday. That was half of a boat trailer at the ramp. I heard someone talking about it while I was waiting to load up just coming dark. I ran out to a reef and got nothing but baby sea bass. I came back inshore around 4:30 and hit some trout and blues. I got a couple of shee...

Steinhatchee 2/28

Got out on the water around 10:30 and man was it rough. The wind and tide was drifting the boat at 2.2 mph. Got a few flounder and one keeper trout. All in about 3 to 4 feet. Did manage to get this drum just trailing a black and gold catch 2000 stick bait behind the boat as we drifted. Sure was fun ...

St Marks

Finaly got a day off and headed down to St Marks to see if I could get me some dinner. Looks like a bowl of cereal will have to do. I put in around 11 am. These tides are pretty messed up. Headed out to an oyster bar off the channel and hit a few short trout right off the bat. It lasted about 10 min...

Re: Big Bend Cobia

Thanks to all that posted. It sure clears things up quite a bit. I figured it would just be a waiting game. I have been stocking up on lures, working on rods and just put three coats of gelcoat on the bottom of the boat today. I finally got a day off and spent the day on my back working on the boat....

Big Bend Cobia

Hello all. I am new to the forum as well as fishing in the Gulf. I took a couple trout fishing trips with a coworker last winter and got bit with the bug bad. By June I pulled the trigger and bought a used Key West 190 Sportsman with a 140 Johnson on the back. After some overheating issues, I got to...
