Re: Taylor County Parking Permits
As my economics professor used to say, TANSTAFL--There ain't no such thing as a free lunch. (And no, it wasn't a late night Trump tweet! ) It costs significant money to build ramps and is a long process for permitting, site prep, parking, etc. And once a ramp is built, it takes more money to ...

Re: Taylor County Parking Permits
So you can't launch if you don't have annual permit??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk. It is nice that you can put on trailer that way you don't have to use the same tow vehicle all the time. That was original the plan but I talked to the guy taking money at the Keaton public ramp Friday and he...

Re: Free Brown Bullheads To Good (OR Bad!) Home
They are not too hard to clean with the right technique and pretty good eating as well. Basically take an electric fillet knife and fillet them like you do any other fish. The trick is to just start halfway down the fish after you have cleared the head and rib bones because there is very little meat...

Taylor County Parking Permits
What are you guys hearing about a Taylor county doing away with daily parking permits and requiring a year pass? I know it doesn't really affect most of you because it's cheaper to buy the year pass anyway, but I know some local businesses are upset about it.

Re: Whats happened to trout fishing?
I'm not completely against lowering the trout limit, but I believe the commercial harvesting needs to be addressed first. Also I don't know of any commercial trout operations locally I just always assumed there were some. You don't know if there are commercial fishermen, and assume there are commer...

Re: Whats happened to trout fishing?
Trout are too valuable to the local economy to be fished commercially. I've wondered for years how it is still legal. Before we push reduced limits, like redfish, on trout for recreational fishermen the commercial fishing needs to be ended. There is no need to sell trout in fish markets with all the...

Re: Cape San Blas/ST. Joe info needed
NOAA is only calling for 5-10 this weekend so unless they are wrong the wind shouldn't be much of an issue wherever you decide to launch.

Re: Cape San Blas/ST. Joe info needed
Check the when the state park opens. I know I've tried to launch there before early in the morning and the gates were down, I had to wait for someone to come along who had the gate code.

I bought a couple spools of line from them, 20 and 12lb. I've been using it some on some of my secondary rigs and the jury is still out on it for me. Strength seems to be okay, it's a little rough through the guides compared to PP or Suffix. I have had one hellacious wind knot with it but it's happe...
