Re: Water clarity around Keaton
Try talking to the biologists about the population. The counts are just barely holding on in a lot of areas. It's right there in back and white. An example would be that Taylor was 60 in 2016 and 19 this year, Dixie was 66 in 2016 and 20 this year. The graph shows both waffling around the yellow li...

Re: Water clarity around Keaton
Went out on sunday and it was dark. Got into some 3-4' water and the bottom really took some work to see clearly. I also noticed the water in the last 1 foot of water was really cold. Refreshing but I can't imagine the scallops liked it. Found very few. We caught 3 keeper trout and a spanish and ca...

Fishing Report
Jay Carson (dudewheresmyplug to forum members) and I put together a video where we give a fishing report and talk about some of our preferred tactics targeting trout and redfish for this time of year if anyone is interested. This is something we are going to try to do on a monthly basis. https://www...

Re: Let’s talk coolers
I’m not above rigging something up, I’m definitely not the preppy mans fishing guide. I’m going to iCast this week and plan on getting an eye full down there. I guess I need to look into the Engels and check the weight.

Re: Let’s talk coolers
This is the cooler I have but the lid is ripped off, it was pretty good but I don’t even know what you call it other than Coleman. Screws stripping through the plastic is the biggest issue, not the handles or hinges themselves. Stainless bolts and washers are not a bad idea for handles but won’t wor...

Let’s talk coolers
Okay, I’m in the market for a good fish cooler. I’ve been using a $50 Coleman or Igloo or something like that from Walmart, but it was pretty beefy for what it was and lasted almost a year before the lid ripped off. I tried to replace the hinges but the design of the lid makes it hard to do. So drop...

Re: So I broiled trout, shark, and bluefish: Taste test.
I was fishing the other day and didn’t have a cooler on the boat and caught about 6 large sails and probably that many black tips as well. Not that I would have kept the cats but I kinda wished I had something to toss a black tip in. I was thinking I put enough meat in the boat that day to feed a sm...

Re: Scalloping Keaton beach 6/23/18
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I've only been to Keaton one time and it wasn't a necessarily busy day. That is a BAD design for ramp/truck & trailer parking/boat access, as are most of the other saltwater ramps I've used/seen in Fl. & Ga.. I competed in and ran bass tournaments...

Jumping on someone’s private dock is a good way to get yourself in some trouble.

Re: Scalloping Keaton beach 6/23/18
That's how it works - not sure how that's cutting in line. Been that way for years. Where is this corner people are getting dropped off at you keep mentioning? Been fishing Keaton for 30 years and yet to spot this drop off area. That’s what I’m trying to figure out, sound like good strategy. I don’...
