Steinhatchee Tomorrow?

Finally have some time to go down tomorrow. Haven’t been in months. Any reports on what the fish are doing?

Sheepshead

Heading down this weekend. We did great with trout and reds a couple of weeks ago. We would like to try to catch some sheepshead. I’ve caught them off the GA coast but never in Florida. We will be going out of Keaton. Any recommendations on where we might find some of these tasty creatures?

Re: HOT Day In Steinhatchee.

Hahaha we could not see the propeller. I was surprised at how well we did. I was expecting to take the new boat out and be over the heat by noon but catching fish kept us going until about 3, that’s when the ice on the drinks melted.

Re: HOT Day In Steinhatchee.

We did not have any luck on a popping cork. We caught them all on 3” D.O.A. Shrimp bounced on the bottom. The water was very dirty. I don’t know that we hit a spot where you could see much more than a foot.

HOT Day In Steinhatchee.

We ended up going to Steinhatchee Sunday morning. It was a HOT day. Wasn’t even a breeze for most of the day. The good part was that we found some fish. We ended up with 15 keeper trout. We probably caught close to 50 in total. Caught most in 6-7 feet. White D.O.A. with an orange tail was color of t...

First Time At St. Marks. Any suggestions?

Me and some buddies are headed down the St. Marks this weekend. We have always fished around Keaton and Steinhatchee, but wanted to try something a little different. Any suggestions for this time of year?

Steinhatchee 4/29 as good as it gets!

Left the ramp just before 9. The weather was about as good as it gets. We headed south and at our first stop on the first cast landed a keeper trout. The bite was steady all day. I don’t know many we caught but it was a lot. We had our 2 man limit by 2 . The weather was so good we kept fishing and h...

Re: Steinhatchee 3/3 and 3/4

We put a few on the grill. Very good. Glad we decided to keep a few. We pretty much only kept the oboes over 14”.
