I was at Lanark this past Sunday fishing the reef and at FSU lab. When we launched the boat, the water temp was 57.4. When we left the FSU lab around 2:00 PM, the surface temp was up to 64. I think it will hit 68 most likely sometime in March, but it might be a while longer before it consistently ho...

Howdy! Went out there today as a matter of fact! We put in at Coe's landing around 10:30 am after stopping at Carey's to get a few dozen "minners". Fished the "Iron Curtain" all afternoon and only boated 1 keeper. She was a hoss too! Probably 1.5 lbs and measured 17 inches. She w...

Fishsticks, I took my family out on a grouper charter last Christmas. I chose Captain Randy out of the Moorings in Carabelle. He and his wife, "Debo" were awesome.  We caught our limit in grouper with 6 customers. They work very hard for you to catch your limit, and are ...

Lanark Report - 5/22/04

I've waited for a day like this one for a long time.... What a day! I took a friend of mine, George Galloway (who loves to freshwater bass fish) out to the Lanark flats yesterday. Been a long time since he has saltwater fished. Dale Hollow and Banshee was also with us in his boat, Hard Times IV. :sm...

Dog Island Reef Report - 04/10/04

Here is a fishing report of our trip yesterday. We got down to Lanark around 8:00 am. The captain, Hutson brought his Boston Whaler down to do some inshore and offshore fishing on Saturday. Banshee and I (Skeeter) went along for the trip. It was a great day all around. We launched the boat at Mike's...

Thanks for the tips!

Thanks to everyone for the tips! I appreciate your insight.

I think I will be leaning towards the Nautic Star as it has much more of the features that I want than the Blazer Bay.

Now if I can only convinve the wife that I have to have it before the really cold weather sets in!

New Boat Advice? Blazer Bay or Nautic Star?

Hello from a new user. I am in the market to buy a new fishing boat. I am seriously looking at the 22 ft. Blazer Bay or the 21 ft. Nautic Star. I primarily want to fish flats and shallower waters for reds and specks. Does anyone here have any advice on either of those 2 boat manufacturers? Would you...
