NICE.

I see why you didn't need a charter.

Re: A week since the last fishing report!

I went out yesterday, inshore was a total bust. Nothing but catfish and ladyfish hitting baits. However, the water was calm, and managed to grab 2 Spanish out near Dog Ballard as they were chasing schools of bait. Lots of porpoises around though, and the bottom fishing seemed to be non-existent. I'm...

Re: Off The Bucket List-Venice La

Nice, have considered driving there for a charter.
Did you take a local guide with you, or you guys already knew what to do and where to go?

St, Marks Sat/ Sun

Fished the bay on Saturday, although we tried going a bit offshore, it was far too choppy. Hit the east end of the bay in about 9' of dark, stained water, and bounced live shrimp on the bottom. Ended up with a nice 23" trout and 28" redfish. Sunday, the weather was beautiful, and we ran ou...

Re: Flounder x 13 = Great Day!

Just over a year and a half ago, I bought my boat. Since then, fewer than 6 flounder made it into the cooler, and none of them were caught by me. All that changed on Thursday. I was hopping to make it to the Rotary Reefs to try for cobia, but the seas were too rough. So we stopped near the St. Mark...

Re: First Time At St. Marks. Any suggestions?

I've had some success with white jerkbaits and white paddletails in 8' to 10' of water.
East of the lighthouse is definitely better than west.

Re: St. Marks 9-3

Thanks for the report. Waiting to add my new PowerPole before I get back out there. Appears Gordon will dump more rain on the bay. Delicious-looking plate of fresh seafood! :lick: Fresh rain, yes, but will it also push more saltwater up with it? Will it help 'flush" the bay, or are we too far ...

St. Marks 9-3

Went out early this AM. We thought that the weatherman would be wrong, or we would be early enough. Wrong. Made it out to the bay, which looked good. Ran behind the sandbar, and got into open water, and it was not good. Short, tough 1' to 2' chop with the occasional 3' swell. Pounded into that for a...

St. Marks 9-1

We originally intended to try trolling for gag and kings today, but when the weather forecast looked as windy as it did, we decided to stick inshore and didn't take trolling rods. As it turned out, the wind was quite manageable, and by mid day it had calmed down substantially. We drifted over some h...

Re: Fishing Trip for September/October

I would suggest Capt. Mike McNamara out of St. Marks- you'll probably have to go out on 2 boats though, given your group size. Great guy and guide- he will put you on fish. http://www.stmarksoutfitters.com/ Does he do grouper charters? I think so, the closer reefs should be starting to get gags by ...
