Re: Oldest girl's first ducks
Wow. Great shooting--she may be a natural. My daughter got her first at age 20. Took 3 boxes. But we all enjoyed it.

Re: Banded duck - Sorta
As the photo clearly shows, his wings were unencumbered. Upon further review, the ruling on the lake is confirmed.

Banded duck - Sorta
Went to clean Saturday's ducks from Lake Jackson. Found that my drake ringer had a band! Sorta. It was an o-ring or gasket, kind of like a large flashlight would have. Poor duckie had evidently put his head through it on a dive while feeding. It had worked its way down to his shoulders. But I promis...

By my calculations if that's what he will look like in 2014, he would still be a shooter right now too. Go git him.

Been out on Talquin lately?
Anyone who has been out on Talquin lately, I would appreciate a PM if you have seen large flocks of ducks, as in 30 together.
By "lately" I mean in the last week-ten days.
Would rather you PM me than to post up so I can beat Bman to the spot.

Daughter's First Duck
Opened the second duck season phase on a hunt with son (26) and daughter (20) which was a rare treat. She has hunted with me a few times over the years since she was little, and shot coots a few times. Well, she is interested in duck hunting now and was after her first ever. We saw mostly a Bufflehe...

Re: Whooping cranes arriving at St. Marks
Last year I observed two adult whoopers in South Tallahassee. Reported to USFWS, they are birds that they have been observing in area for several winters. I think in the range of 3-4 yr olds. Amazing sight - were 200 yd away bit appeared to be standing 6 ft tall.

Re: The DUCKumentary...
I saw the end of this. It is a must for any duckhunter. I am asking for it for Christmas. http://www.shoppbs.org/product/index.jsp?productId=16400746&cp=1378003.2831221&utm_source=PBS&utm_campaign=pbs.org_banner_728x90_nature_Upto20offFS69_Nov12&utm_medium=banner&parentPage=family

Re: water level in Lake Iamonia
crappielimits -- thanks for posting that report on Iamonia. I had no idea such info existed. I totally agree -- never knew that the dams at Iamonia could serve that purpose or all the history of efforts to do just that.

Great story, man. Had thought your boy was younger from that pic of him piloting the boat. They do grow up fast.
