Re: 2023 State Gag season limited to Sept. 1 – Nov. 10
The rule also states "This change is consistent with pending regulations in adjacent federal waters in the Gulf of Mexico." So the same rule will apply to Federal waters. Another website forum said "The commercial sector is having their gag quota reduced BY 80% starting 2023, they wil...

The 2023 recreational season for gag grouper in Gulf state waters will be open Sept. 1 – Nov. 10 . https://myfwc.com/news/all-news/gag-season-722/ FWC reports they need this to prot...

Re: Red snapper charter
I have gone with family members on charters with Chris Oaks out of Carrabelle for probably 7 years in a row, and he always produces. He will put you on the fish.

Smell on Hwy. 98 east of Lanark
For several years now I have notice an awful smell while traveling on Highway 98 east of Lanark Village. I doesn't seem to be getting better, only worse. What is it?

Jim just repaired a guide on a bottom fishing rod of mine, and did a great job. $25.00.
A nice guy too. I enjoyed talking reels and rods with him.

Re: Anybody fishing the Big Bend Saltwater Classic?
Yep, I'm fishing, but I don't expect to win anything and don't really care. Since "all proceeds generated from the event are used to expand and develop a system of artificial reefs in the Northeastern Gulf of Mexico, OAR's purview of operation " and I fish some their reefs, I figure I owe ...

Re: NOAA does it again...Red Snapper

Mangrove Snapper season is open, but I might catch one of those for every forty Red Snapper I catch. This doe...

Re: Looking for a Merc mechanic
A few years back, I took my Mercury Optimax to three different shops. The first let it sit for three months without touching it, and I didn't even get an apology. The second changed both batteries and the battery switch. It didn't make a difference. The third looked at it, made a few adjustments and...
