Sierra makes all of the maintenance parts for the old OMC motors now. Doesn't matter if you buy it from a Evinrude/Johnson dealer for big bucks or a discount place online, it's the same parts in different packaging. You should be able to buy a water pump rebuild kit without the housing. The housing...

Key

OK - no gaskets it is - I just wanted someone else to tell me it was OK because I wasn't sure... :-? But what do you think of the heavy scoring inside the impeller? That's the real problem here. I am supposing that maybe the original key in that old of a motor could have gotten worn down -- so I wil...

1976 40hp Johnson cooling problems

I am trying to fix cooling problems on my old 1976 Johnson 40hp outboard. It has sat up for about 8 months, but seemed to be cooling ok when I last used it. I just test ran it in a garbage can, and there was no water shooting out of the foot where it should be and it was well on its way to overheati...

Re: Not Your Bait Shrimp

Does anyone know where you can get Royal Red Shrimp? I had some in Key West, and can't wait to get my hands on some more. Any help is welcome. We got some at Joe Patti's on Pensacola bay a couple of months ago, but they said we were lucky that they had any to sell that day -- as they hardly ever ge...

Could have some more information on this one above? Your $800 boat sounds nice, but I can't afford quite that much.

12 to 14 ft. fiberglass flatbottom boat wanted

Need a stable boat for the river that I can have a dog or two in and go fishing and not turn over like an aluminum jon boat might. I was planning on putting a 9 1/2 hp motor on it. Boat trailer not needed, but would be ok. And I can come pick it up.

Thanks guys, but too late, hopefully the 5200 will do the trick OK. I'll take along an extra life preserver just in case. :-D
BTW, have to watch that 5200 running out the holes until it hardens, for sure...

Just fill em and it don't have to be with 5200 :-D The main thing is to fill it from one side, till it comes out the other side, thus insuring that the hole is completely sealed    Thanks Wevans  - I just wanted someone else to look at what I was doing to make sure I w...

Question on plugging bolt holes in transom

I removed a kicker motor mounting bracket from the transom. it had eight 1/4 in. bolts. The holes are above the waterline. Do you think I will be OK just filling the holes with 3M 5200 sealant? Or do you think that I need to waste those nice SS bolts just as place holders? The footprint for the brac...

Just a way to get into customers pockets again in my opinion... I quite agree - nowhere on the mailing I received did I see the $75 price tag -- it appeared a free update like a bug fix, until I went through the hassle of trying to install it and eventually calling Garmin customer service. I will l...

Note that your VHF radio is only half of the equation here. Don't shortchange yourself :hammer: by not researching out a quality antenna and a good mounting location on your boat - e.g., away from other electrical interference.

Here's a link to antenna info:
