Was it the New Boat Name or Social T-Shirt?
Yesterday, 4/20, I finally was able to make my first real trip out on the water this year. With my Dad down from South Carolina, I was excited at the prospect of putting us on some fish but worried the full moon might have the fish in lip lock mode. Met up with fellow board member Sharkman at the li...

Re: 15 lbs of nasty bastid on a bream buster
When I was a kid I Freshwater fished in the South Carolina foothills almost every day - only saltwater fish in Florida, and the bowfin is a fish I hadn't seen until your post, Bad Behavior. After your poetic description of the odor, was shocked to find this nugget of wisdom on the web while trying t...

Re: Working on a new and improved BB
BB, to get that lean and mean look stay away from low reps and big weights. The big weights might help with the mean part but not as much with the lean  Seriously, the big weights will help you bulk up with muscle but for getting lean the best route is high reps and lighter weights as they wil...

Re: St. Marks 2008.03.30 - a very odd fishing partner
Been wondering what happened to my little old friend... he helped me out last year during a trip out in May. Believe it or not, he helped while fishing an offshore spot about 12 miles out :o http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z83/bigbendgyrene/LilBird2.jpg http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z83/bigb...

Re: COBIA TACTICS
Salt Life, sure hope I don't jinx 2008 but I've had pretty good luck with the cobia the past few years during the summer months. Basically do exactly what you suggested minus the chum. I put out live pinfish and/or dead cigar minnows at the top, middle, and even bottom of the water column... usually...

New Econfina Condo Complex?
Bit different from those fancy Carrabelle condos Barry keeps selling, but I hear there are plans for new condos near the Econfina ramp and they're being modeled to match condos from this sister condo site... keeping my fingers crossed they're priced in a range I can afford  . . . . . . . . ...

Never Choke in The South!
Had a friend forward this one to me and enjoyed it enough to share... reminds me of about 100 different jokes my Grandfather (coal miner in WV) used to tell me any my brothers when we were kids... Two hillbillies walk into a bar. While having a few shots of whiskey, they talk about starting their ow...

Re: Big Bend Observations?
Will share two sightings this past week that brightened my spirits, though one I don't believe to be early as much as an enjoyable sign of spring arriving. Saw a scattering of these along the roadside on a recent drive from my home near Lloyd while headed to Medart... think these are showing up pret...

Re: Miami Boat Show Update - My Boat Finally Named!
Bman, won't forget my promise but may wait until it warms up a bit so we can target some midshore species under more favorable conditions (I'll leave the February cobia fishing up to Littoral!) ... these 20 degree mornings just aren't my thing!

Re: Miami Boat Show Update - My Boat Finally Named!
Finally got around to installing the boat lettering I purchased at the show.
