Re: anybody fishing freshwater?
I want to see the pix of bman paddling and you in the bow. Probably more documented shots of Big Foot and the Lock Ness Monster than that scenario, though. He can try correcting me if I'm wrong (and about 100% sure I'm not!)... but in five years I've owned the place, and that's with a trip ma...

Re: anybody fishing freshwater?
Should add that if anyone likes speckled cats, just let me know and I'll gladly catch a mess when I can find time and arrange for pick-up (or even delivery if I have time). Only caveat is I'll leave the cleaning to the recipient. SaltyGator took a mess last year and gifted them to a friend and prett...

Re: anybody fishing freshwater?
For a number of reasons, done more freshwater fishing out of the pond this year than saltwater fishing. Correction, I've PADDLED Bman around more than anything. He's had pretty good luck during his visits. Bass.jpg Bman had enough luck during his first trip that he brought his Dad the next go round ...

Re: 04/25 St. Marks Inshore Slam (Again)
Would give my "Keep the eyes on the prize!" sermon, Ontiltttttt, but guessing you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now -- just be sure it's not a train! More serious note, if / when you feel you've reached a safe point be nice to get you back on board. Between Bman playi...

Re: New Member
Strange, but the site just allowed me back in under my old user name. Now have to figure out how to kill Old Corps. Wouldn't worry about it, CSMarine! If don't use it not sure it will hurt anything for the other name to just float out there in space... Bman sees this pretty sure he has the power to...

Welcome back and Semper Fi, CSMarine! salute1 Like the new name but thought I would share that using a search I still see your old profile and am guessing you may be able to login / use it if you want? Think link below will take you to it.... you sure shared a lot of good posts with it and I remembe...

Re: Great weekend at Econfina
Awesome report!  Won't make any rude inquiries into precise spots fished but out of concern for the health of the bay would love to know what the water clarity was like, and if clear enough what the grass flats looked like / look healthy and thick or sparse? Been nice enough in 2019,...

Re: Spring Water temps / timing
Another cool thing to keep track of would be number of keeper vs shorts caught on a day. It would be interesting to see how the ratio changed over the summer. Salty, not sure how much stock I'd be able to put in that data as for whatever reason some days it seems they want to swim up top and the ke...

Re: Spring Water temps / timing
For the migration in the spring, do you just idle around in the nearshore area ( 20' to 30' ) looking for them on the surface from a tower? Not unless you're fishing clear waters like those in the Panama City / Destin area. If talking about the darker waters inside the Apalachee Bay area, you're be...

Re: Spring Water temps / timing
Impressive that you're maintaining that data set! That being said, what is the sample size of trips made? n=? And Srbenda, again with the caveat that it's not an assurance of statistical significance, I can say that the data represents catches from approximately 70 trips made over a 10 year period ...

Re: Spring Water temps / timing
Is that your personal catch data bbg? Mix of data I've collected over 10 years of tagging PLUS data on keepers that I gathered by revisiting old BBF posts, facebook posts, etc -- all saved in an excel spreadsheet with date and lengths (for fish tagged) recorded. Devils advocate here. How many days ...

Re: Spring Water temps / timing
Wouldn't be surprised in the least if some are landed this month or early March and I've most definitely caught a few fish in April... BUT... If asking when I'd try to line up guests to visit for the BEST chance at cobia I have zero doubt which month I'd choose based on past catch data. And I'd hone...
