Re: Going to St George 9/26 & 9/27
Well we went. That's about all there was to it. Fished incoming tide both days. It was slick with very little wave action and I didn't see any decent runouts. Wound up at stop #4 in the park, no runout but a good trough. Loaded my surf wagon and hit the beach. http://i441.photobucket.com/albums/qq13...

Re: Going to St George 9/26 & 9/27
Hey WAM. Good to hear from you. Forget the cast net. Water has been too churned up lately, I'm not gettin in it. I've been fishing there before. Check out this post from Pirate. http://www.bigbendfishing.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=19540" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false...

Going to St George 9/26 & 9/27
Wife wants to go to St George. We plan to fish Gulf side in the park (not east end). Any what, where, and when tips would be appreciated. I'm planning on ending up at the last pavillion but that's not etched in stone. Are there any decent sand fleas around there now?

Re: Big Tiger shark off SGI
If they are measuring to the tip of the tail, you can figure on the distance from the 2nd dorsal fin to the tip being roughly 1/3 of it's overall length. That would put it right at 12'.
Maybe this will help.

Re: Selectivly Collecting Specimens at location X
I don't get to fish very often and post even less frequently. However I do read every thread. I try to read every post but I'm sure I miss some. One thing I don't find at BBF is a bunch of idiots trying to rape the resource. We all keep a big one every now and then (for whatever reason) but we are t...

Reel: Penn GTI 330 level wind. Spooled with 80# Power Pro braided line. Rod: Shakespeare Tidewater TW 60 SU, Heavy Action, Line rating 30-80 Lb. Both are in very good condition. Going to Cedar Key
Heading for Cedar Key. Plan on fishing Friday. Low tide going out. Will start in the channels and work onto the flats around Seahorse as the tide comes in. After that...food and fun. Anybody know what's happening in that area. (Fishing that is, wife and I are good at food and fun.)
Thanks
JC

St George (A good plan comes together)
With the great weather forcast for Sunday in hand, the wife and I took off for the beach. She with her chair and tanning lotion and me with my ulterior motives. Headed down Saturday night to the Gibson Inn, man I hate staying at a bed and breakfast, got up Sunday ready for the beach (to fish). I was...

Thanks for the info. It's good to know the bathrooms are functional, makes a big difference to the wife. It will be nice to see the East End open again. Had planned to take the wife this weekend but the sandblasting we would take might be a hard sell. I've fished St George State Park for years. It's...

St George State Park
Does anyone know what kind of shape the state park and it's facilities are in. I'm hoping they have recovered from the storm damage. Thought I might take the wife down for some beach time while I spike a few poles and wait for a freight train to hit. Thanks guys.

Thanks for the info. The road being closed in the park helped me make my mind up in a hurry. Saint Marks here we come! With this warm weather I think we just might find some action on the flats. I rented a pontoon boat to get the 4 of us out there. The fish should be deep enough for us to get to the...
