Re: Scallop season closed in St. Joe Bay

There is no water battle and Florida has received more water in the last two years from Ga than they have since 1994. I agree the management of Tate's Hell withholds water to the bay and could be better. Sometimes the thing to do is to do a closed season for a year. As much as I love oysters, i coul...

Re: Scallop season closed in St. Joe Bay

The lack of freshwater and Ga withholding is 100% false. First of all most of the rivers have hit flood stage several times over the past few years. These systems have experienced high waters for extended periods too. Secondly, if anyone wants to look at cause/effect of water withholding, you should...

Re: June NFGFC tourney...1 red or 2?

I know I will probably upset some but must say. If we really feel there is an issue with our redfish population and most of us want a sustainable fishery for future anglers, why keep any reds in tournaments? Conservation needs to be a priority and killing for food is one thing, but for sport? Genesis...

Re: Scallop season closed in St. Joe Bay

I think they need to consider a closed season throughout the big bend. Shrimp and oysters need less pressure too. Funny how everything is struggling since the oil spill?

Re: Redfsh limit

You guys are comparing two different stock fish. Go to Venice and tell me when you catch a wimpy redfish. By the way that fishery has been fished much more than our area, anglers have bigger creels, bigger fish. Even after being oiled. Answer to the redfish should definitely involve habitat preserva...

Some have and some won't for a couple weeks. The males are every where and aggressive.

Re: Talquin Report?

Limb lines and any other fixed line must be marked with name/contact info. They must be out the water by daylight. FWC probably cut his lines or another person trying to keep water safe/clean. never knew a commercial fisherman to use limb lines either. Don't let a loser like that ruin your trip.

Re: Trout breeding size

Trout numbers and quality have been on a decline for a couple years. I think it's been multiple factors such as the open season during the spawn and a lot of freshwater the last few years. There are definitely more fishermen too!

Re: Sunshine Bass

http://myfwc.com/media/2577624/Saltwater-Records2012-2013.pdf The state of Florida has a record for saltwater striped bass. Do you reckon the guy was written a ticket. Florida thinks they aren't prevalent enough in the warm gulf waters to address. Though, all the need is nearby springs to cool off t...

Re: Sunshine Bass

Captain Ron stripers are not a listed species regulated by Fwc in saltwater but in fact are natural to saltwater. Therefore they are also considered to be saltwater too. Most other gulf states do have dual regulations but Florida for some reason does not. On the other hand white bass are freshwater ...

Re: Sunshine Bass

Sunshine bass are a freshwater species. Therefore you need a freshwater liscense. Stripers are in both fresh and salt and either liscense will allow harvest. I would think you are catching juvenile stripers in the brackish waters. Sun shines are a hybrid fish produced the lab for freshwater. They ar...

Re: Looking for a new Bottom Machine/GPS: Any Suggestions

If you go with a Humminbird all you have to do is plug in new unit and go. The 2d transducer will be the same. If you go DI or SI buy a Y cable and use both transducers. Then just add the other transducer.

Re: Carolina Skiff JVX18CC

The JVX is not going to fit the demands you stated. It will be a rough ride in the bay on windy days. You can get a lot of boat in that price range.
