Re: Little grass grouper?
I've been catching a lot of them, too. Sweet little fish, too bad they are not legal - that l'il filet would sure make an excellent sandwich :D ! In the last couple weeks, I have been out on the flats near Stienhatchee twice and probably caught 3 or 4 of them each trip in the 8 in. to 12 in. range. ...

Re: 24 Ft. Sportcraft Offshore WAC**PRICE REDUCED**
I'll be derned - a gil bracket. I never heard the term before, but they are apparently fairly common looking out on the internet -- I probably could have found a used one for that 20' Renken sea drive I gave up on. Oh well, live and learn... :hammer: http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureproce...

Re: 24 Ft. Sportcraft Offshore WAC**PRICE REDUCED**
Well, it is a nicely set up boat for deep water fishing and the price is sure right, but you would have to be willing to do some work to get another outboard mounted on it.

Re: Mercury 60 HP Outboard
One thing you can do is go to http://www.nadaguides.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and look up your outboard's value. Then call a mechanic to see how much the work on the foot will cost and deduct it. At least this will give you a ballpark figure... Here's what I got fo...

Re: 24 Ft. Sportcraft Offshore WAC**PRICE REDUCED**
Can you put a different engine on it or does it have to be a sea drive? It is certainly possible in my opinion, as I was looking for a used outboard a couple of months ago to do just that. The 115 OMC outboard was blown on my 20 ft. Renken (1986) with a Sea Drive setup. It didn't seem feasible to m...

Problem accessing forum after upgrade Norton antiviru
A couple of months ago, I bought the latest version of Norton. Included was a product called "Norton Internet Security". Immediately upon competing the upgrade, I started having trouble getting into this forum. The problem is that if I simply go into the main forum screen (http://www.bigbe...

Re: Steinhatchee, 4/26/08, offshore
The ride in was still a bit bumpy, so much for 1-2's. We went out of Steinhatchee last Monday, 4/21 to about 35 ft. of water looking for grouper. "Seas of 2 to 3 ft. falling to 1 to 2 ft. by mid-day" -- my butt !! I think I am just going to double whatever the marine forecast says from no...

Steinhatchee flats 4/25
Me and a buddy put in at the public ramp mid-morning just before the tide change and hugged the shore in 2 to 4 ft. of water. Did pretty good for a couple hours work and not much gas: 4 trout and a real nice flounder all made the supper table that night. Also had fun with an 18 in. cobia that didn't...

Re: Stiff nylon rope
Put it in a 5 gallon bucket with some water and some laundry fabric softener. It works well for cast nets so it should work for the rope. I tried soaking that 1/2 in. nylon line in laundry softener for a couple of days. But, :smt010 it really didn't help. I guess I will just have to spring a whole ...

Re: Hydrofoil?
If hydrofoils are so good, then why are they aftermarket add-ons? Don't you think if they were that great that the major makers would include them on new motors? I say this without prejudice, as both my Merc 100 on a Carolina Skiff and an Evenrude 40 on a smaller boat already had hydrofoils installe...

Stiff nylon rope
You folks know any way to soften up nylon rope that is stiff? What I have currently is 1/2 in. white nylon. It is not bad when it is wet, but dry, it is almost too stiff to use it to tie up to the dock. ps - maybe I am dreaming and I just need to replace it, but I thought I would ask...
