I can’t believe a head boat went out of Panama City and couldn’t put you on Red Snapper. Most of the spots we fish are within site of PCB.

Re: This could be you...with a PLB.
As soon as I started taking offshore fishing serious I bought one. Looking back I should have bought one months earlier. No reason to hit the water without one. I mounted an Auto Deploy Epirb on the side of my console and have a PLB sitting on top of the console. Gives you a real peace of mind when ...

I’ve never had FWC ask to see my tackle/tackle box, only my catch/cooler.
Tell them you are fishing for mackerel.

Re: Trailer tire pressure?
Aren’t those inflate numbers for Max Load.
I’m sure your running around unloaded so why over-inflate the tires?
I run my dual axle trailer tires between 35-40. They are rated up to 50.

Re: Garmin
I fish mainly offshore and Sideview helped me find many artificial reefs that had been relocated after Hurr Michael.
If I fished structure in water over 10’ I would buy SV. But SV is not going to do anything for you floating in 3-5ft over grassflats.

Garmin
SV is Side View and Down View.
CV is Clear View or Down View only
I’ve used the 94 SV for the last 4 years.
Currently have the touchscreen model.

Re: 2021 recreational red snapper season
Maybe I missed it or maybe its assumed, but does this mean they are more likely to add more days to the season, or increase the bag limit?
I assume they would not do both.

Re: Flounder Report
Just curious -- how do y'all make sure the flounder is 14" before you hit 'em with the gig? Seems like throwing back a gigged flounder would just be feeding the crabs. My gig was 6” across so it was easy to figure it out. Most of the “barely” legal ones were always 13”. The 13” fish only made ...

Jon boat or Gheenoe for flats
I would probably stay away from fiberglass too. One good strike from a rock or oyster bar and you will be bailing water. Get at least a welded 1448, while something 16ft or longer would give you more confidence on those choppy days.
