Re: Headed to port st joe next week
Haven't heard much lately other than slow in the Bay and big kings at the Buoy Line. Sorry, not much of a report but best I can do.

Re: St. Joe Bay Charter 7/4/2106
Thanks for the report and glad you had a good trip. I usually fish with Clint Moore in the bay (wade fishing with live bait) but it's good to know about other options and Captain Dan sounds like a good option. If you're fishing where I think you were when that pic of the red was taken, I believe Sho...

Re: cape san blas
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get down to the Cape for a while so I don't know what's going on with the fishing but you could try calling Scallop Cove bait shop (850) 227-7557 and/or the Trading Post (850) 229-8775 to see what they can tell you. Good luck and enjoy.

Re: Bass Pro Shops 2015 Fall Hunting Giveaway!!!!
I thought for sure Danibeth would be the winner! Bass Pro folks need to hire her to do some catalog modeling.
MudDucker -- You might have better luck next time if the person in the pic isn't wearing Cabelas gear.

Florida Statute 790.25 Allows open carry of a fireman under certain circumstances. Below is what allows me to open carry without a permit. (h) A person engaged in fishing, camping, or lawful hunting or going to or returning from a fishing, camping, or lawful hunting expedition; Always handy to have...

Cape San Blas Townhouse for rent
If anyone is looking for a place to rent at the Cape, we have a 2 BR, 2 & half bath townhouse available in the Barrier Dunes development. Not directly on the beach but 50 yards or so away along a boardwalk. About the same distance from the club house and pool. Just 5 minutes or so from Eagle Har...

Re: SCALLOPS
I'm not sure about other areas but St. Joe Bay has at least two places where you can access without a boat and wade. However, I don't know how well those areas are producing this year. On the dive flag, I believe you have to have one when you're snorkeling even if it's not from a boat. Not positive ...

Re: St joe bay scallops
If you have never done it before, zload's advice is best. Looks for the boats. Even better, hire a guide. Should be about $200 for 4 hours for 4-6 people. Much more likely to get some that way plus you then have a better idea where to go and what to do if you want to go again on your own.

Re: Now that is one TALL fella
I expect he always let someone else hold his fish for the fishin' pictures -- otherwise it would look like all he caught was baitfish. .

Re: Official Scallop report thread!
Wife and I went out on St. Joe Bay Saturday morning. Our first stop we were able to get a 2-person limit in about an hour at a spot near Black's Island but they were very small for the most part. We then checked out a couple of other spots that were good last year and did find some larger scallops (...

Re: Panacea Snapper & Red Grouper... 7-10
Seems like the comparison is a reasonable one. When you pay for fishing, you get to avoid certain undesirable duties necessary when you don't pay (like cleaning the boat). And, when you pay for "that other thing", there are also undesirable duties that can be avoided (like talking, snuggli...

Re: Cleaning Long-nosed Gar
I once ate some gar cooked by a Seminole (native American, not FSU grad) named Swamp Owl. He gutted the fish and then laid them directly on some hot coals in an open fire. When they were done, he just split them down the back and you then pulled the meat out. It's been quite a few years ago but my r...
