Re: Scallop Season
Less of a chance to breed before harvest. And as the numbers drop to lower then it would have been in mid July normally breeding is less successful. When there are lots around as a mass, better fertilzation happens. Drop the numbers earlier, we'll see what it does to the scallop population just so s...

Re: Scallop Season
This early in the season they will be small and less plentiful. I have no idea what the State is doing opening the season before they need to. But then again when it comes to our fishery management, the "powers that be" appear clueless anyway. I was told by FWC that the change was request...

Re: Angler Ethics?
lots of rude boaters out there and i dont expect it to get any better since ethics are a lost thing. one thing i do expect is if i found a secret spot that someone else might have also found it on there own.

Re: 2017 Scallop Seminar
they didn't give counts, and i was fairly disapointed in the meeting. i expected it to be for new scallopers, but there was very little usefull info at all. all the speaker ran long and no time for questions until the end. then everyone was ready to leave.

Re: Only a few more weeks.
We were almost swamped in the channel, in a bowrider by a rental being driven by a young person at a ridiculous speed. It can be crazy and I assume it will be worse then normal with the change. Everyone be real careful out there!

Re: Tomorrow satdy 6/10
I was going out tomorrow, but planning to load out on a creek ramp. Do you think the water will be to crazy for a small john boat?

Re: Keaton 6/4
About three weeks ago we had a 7-8 footer come right by the boat. It's always been a good area to catch a lot of shark, but I agree there seems to be more sharks, maybe more big ones. I'll have to make sure we stay closer to the scallop flotilla, not wander to far away this year. I hate it when peop...

Re: Taylor County Parking Permits
I noticed quite a few out of area plates at the Keaton ramp last time. I don't know how they would make it work to demand a yearly pass or else. But good to know about this, I bought one yesterday, good deal since I have spent $20 in the last two months at Keaton. Now I am set of the rest of the yea...

Re: Whats happened to trout fishing?
I have never seen so many baby black sea bass as I have the last two years inshore. Could they be eating all the resources or the baby trout? They eat soft baits like they're candy, voracious little things.
