Steinhatchee 3/3 and 3/4

Took my boss down to Steinhatchee on Friday. He had never fished the flats and didn't know what to expect. We put in a long day on the water. Overall it was a solid day. We caught over 30 fish total. Ended up with 5 keeper trout and 2 Spanish mackerel. Lots of trout just under the limit. We fished e...

Re: Steinhatchee 2/3 Update

For whatever reason it looked like the boats around us were not doing as well. I don't know what we were doing different. It did seem that most of them were fishing out in the deep part of channel and were in a closer to a bar.

Steinhatchee 2/3 Update

We hit the water a little before 8. Started close to the mouth of the river. The wind was an issue all morning. Picked 2 keeper trout before lunch. Around 1 we moved in close to a bar near marker 29 and the bite turned on. for the next hour or so it was a fish every other cast. Lots that were just s...

Steinhatchee Saturday 2/3

I am headed down to Steinhatchee on Saturday with a group of guys. I don't normally go during the winter, but we want to give it a try. A couple of the guys I am going with only get to go a few times a year so I am hoping that we can find some. Any suggestions on where we should start looking?

Re: Horshoe Beach Fish and Scallops

Thank you! We googled it later and figured out that it was a Lizardfish. Have been fishing the KB area since I was a kid and this was the first time that I have caught one. It was exciting on a day of few fish.

Re: Labor Day weekend scalloping/fishing?

If you can find a place to stay, Steinhatchee is the way to go. Just follow the train of boats out for a short ride south. We had no problem finding them there.

Horshoe Beach Fish and Scallops

I am a couple of weeks late on posting about our trip to Horseshoe beach. It was my first time there and was certainly a learning experience. The water is not as clear as I am used to. We were never able to get on the fish. I did catch a nice 22" trout and my buddy caught a fish we had never se...

Where to go at Horseshoe Beach?

My wife surprised me for my birthday by getting us a house for the weekend at Horseshoe Beach. I have never fished the area, so I was hoping for any suggestions. We will be fishing and scalloping. I am sure the fishing is similar to Keaton and Steinhatchee, but any suggestions would be appreciated. ...

Re: Trout and scallops in Keaton.

We certainly did not find our limit. I don't know what the issue is this year. Maybe it is just still early. Thanks for checking out the video!

Trout and scallops in Keaton.

We went to KB last weekend. Spent half the day catching trout and half the day looking for the few scallops we could find. It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. Check out my YouTube video below!
